The charity benefiting is the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, which is dedicated
to finding a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex, while improving the lives of those affected.
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a devastating genetic disorder affecting approximately 50,000 Americans. TSC causes tumors to form in
various vital organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, liver, skin and lungs. Epilepsy, autism, learning and behavioral problems often are
found in individuals with TSC. Currently there is no cure for TSC but ongoing research focused on TSC will also pave the way for treatments and
therapies for numerous diseases, including cancer, diabetes, autism and epilepsy.
