InSight Gallery hosts a One Man Show with nationally
acclaimed master artist Daniel F. Gerhartz. The power
and beauty of Gerhartz’ paintings evoke a sense of
timelessness and idealism. Often depicting the female
figure in a pastoral setting or intimate interior, the
artist draws inspiration from the very old traditions
of romanticism and symbolism. Steadfastly honest
and faithful to his style, Gerhartz’ brush strokes are
loose while the surface is lavish with color, light and
shadows in perfect harmony.
Born in 1965 in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, where
he now lives with his wife Jennifer, and their young
children, Gerhartz’ interest in art emerged as a
teenager. Studies at the American Academy of Art
in Chicago, Illinois and his voracious appetite for
museums and the modern masters such as John
Singer Sargent, Alphonse Mucha, Nicolai Fechin,
Joaquin Sorolla, Carl von Marr have inspired him.
Regarding his work, Gerhartz says, “My desire as
an artist is that the images I paint point to the Creator
and not to me, the conveyor. J.S. Bach said it well as
he signed his work, ‘Soli Deo Gloria.” To God alone be
the glory.
