Challenging issues concern in managing MNP
• How to improve tourism management?
• How to increase marine resources status monitoring
capacity?
Strengthening Andaman Marine
Protected Areas Network is a
partnership project between the Department of National Parks,
Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) and World Wide Fund for
Nature (WWF) funded by the French Development Agency (AFD).
This project seeks to improve the natural resource management
and of three Marine National Parks; Mu Ko Surin, Mu Ko Similan
and Mu Ko Lanta.
Activities
• Reef Guardian (in collaboration with Green Fins project)
“Green Fins” and “Reef Guardian” members also contribute to coral
reef monitoring (using Reef Watch method) by providing data
illustrating changes in coral reef health

Training the dive operators to survey the
reefs and help repair the damaged corals
