Alki Tours
We are excited about the line up of trips we have to
offer you this year at our three senior centers! We
have brought back some previously popular trips,
added some new and exciting ones and have even
included some tours for those looking for a more
‘active’ experience.
No refund for cancellation 13 days or less to
departure.
Mail In Registration
If you register by mail, please include the name,
facility, and price of each trip. Please write a
separate check for each facility, i.e., Kenmore,
Northshore Centers. If you want a receipt and a
trip reminder mailed to you, please enclose a
stamped, self-addressed envelope and mail your
request to the Bookie Office at: NSC, 10201 E.
Riverside Drive, Bothell, WA 98011-3708. Mill
Creek trips must go through the Mill Creek Senior
Center.
Day Trips
Payment for day trips is due at sign up. Make
checks for day trips payable to the facility
sponsoring the trip. Northshore Senior Center can
book Northshore and Kenmore Centers sponsored
trips. Mill Creek sponsored trips must be booked
at Mill Creek Senior Center.

Overnight Trips
Make checks payable to the respective tour
company. You will not be registered for the trip
until payment is received at the facility sponsoring
the trip. Telephone registrations are placed on the
reserve list until payment is made.
For extended overnight trips at Northshore Senior
Center only, please park in the public lot located on
the corner of 101st Ave and 185th Street across the
street from the police station on the west side of
101st in Bothell. Load at the curb cut. Also, be
sure the Bookie Office has recorded your car make,
model and license number. Parking spaces are very
limited. We encourage carpooling, and pickup and
drop off for all extended trips off 101st in Bothell.

Cancellation Policies
Departure and arrival times are estimates. Keep
this in mind when arranging activities that begin
close to the departure and arrival times of trips.
Due to many unforeseen factors (e.g. traffic), these
estimates may change without notice.
Your
flexibility is most appreciated.
Fees for day trips are non-refundable within seven
(7) working days of the trip if a replacement cannot
be found for your seat. Trips with pre-purchased
tickets are non-refundable at any time unless a
replacement is found.
Note: Busses are not wheelchair accessible.
Walkers have to be light weight with folding
capabilities. We reserve the right to reject any person as a
tour participant and expel anyone whose conduct is
incompatible with the interest of the tour group.

Northshore Day trips will depart from the
Russian Church which is located at 19510
100th Ave NE, Bothell. Please park away
from the church on the North side of the
lot. Easiest way to get there is North on
Bothell Way NE (Hwy 527) right on NE
190th St. and left on 100 Ave NE.
Entrance to parking lot is off 100th,
North of church.
Kenmore Day trips will depart from the
the Russian Church or the Kenmore Senior
Center Parking Lot.
Mill Creek Day trips depart from
Brookdale, 14905 Bothell Everett Hwy, Mill
Creek. Fees are non-refundable seven days
prior to a trip or after the deadline date.

Intimate Impressionism From
The National Gallery Of Art
The Seattle Art Museum is proud to present
Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery
of Art (in Washington DC). The collection is
comprised of extraordinary paintings, considered to
be the jewels of one of the finest collections of
French Impressionism in the world. This exhibition
will feature 71 intimately scaled painting by
Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters. This
will be the first time the beloved collection has gone
on tour.

LaConner Quilt And Fiber Arts Festival
Attention all quilters and fabric lovers! This is an
international juried and judged show. It includes
quilts from several countries and a Fiber Arts and
Wearable Arts Show. One of the best in the
country. Spend the day enjoying the show and
LaConner. Festival admission is included, but
lunch is on your own.

Underground Seattle Tour
Join us for a tour underneath Seattle’s sidewalks of
Pioneer Square. Roam through the remains of
Seattle’s first downtown storefronts and streets. We
begin at Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored
1890’s saloon. From there our guide will take us
further through the underground about three blocks
in all. We will cap off our history tour with lunch
on your own at the J&M Café,
established in 1889.

Remlinger Farms
October is a beautiful time of year to visit the farm.
Walk the farm market for fresh fruits, vegetables,
bulk foods and many baked items. You can even
take an already made pie home to bake. Visit their
Northwest Craft Showcase – 100’s of unique
handmade gifts and country crafts. We’ll have
lunch in the Country Kitchen Restaurant. There are
many delicious items on their menu and all made
with fresh ingredients. Lunch is on your own.

Purdy Prison Pet Partnership Program
We will visit the Prison Pet Partnership Program in
Purdy. Here women inmates train rescued dogs
from shelters to become service dogs for persons
with disabilities. It is a win-win program. They also
operate a boarding and grooming facility to provide
vocational education for the women. Lots of
walking and lunch on your own. Sign up by Oct 12,
2015. We will need full name including middle
initial, date of birth and last four digits of social
security number for a background
check.

Seattle Knights Jousting Show
The Rhodes River Ranch is a Horse Breeding and
training facility located near Arlington. They have a
restaurant and covered arena. We will tour facilities,
with lunch included and watch a jousting show put
on by the Seattle Knights, a theatrical group who
provide equestrian thrills and choreographed stage
combat. Learn some medieval history and fantasy.

Wild Horse Wind And Solar Facility Tour
Let’s take a power trip and get an inside look at the
giant wind turbines generating electricity for the
Puget Sound. We will take a 45 minute tour of the
facility and grounds, which should prove both
informative and inspiring. After our exploration of
modern technology, we will take a step back in time
to the rock and roll 50’s at the Red Horse Diner in
Ellensburg for lunch on your own before heading
back home.

Georgetown Steam Plant Tour
And Lunch
We will drive down to Georgetown to have a 1-hour
guided tour of the historic Steam Plant. Built in 1906
-07 by the Seattle Electric Company, exterior is a
slightly subdued Neo-Classical style typical of the
period. Much of the original machinery and
ancillary equipment remains for viewing. Because
we will be so nearby, we will queue at the Hangar
Café for lunch or brunch. Dress for Weather. This
is yet another priceless Seattle Landmark with most
of the menu under $10.

Public Market Tours
Join us for a one-hour historical tour of Pike Place
Market filled with intriguing tales. At 105 years old,
Pike Place Market is the oldest continuously
operating market in the United States. The original
Starbucks and Sur La Table stores can be found
here, as well as the world famous fish throwing Pike
Place Fish boys. It is also home to more than 200
year-round commercial businesses: 190 craftspeople
and musicians; and more than 300 apartment units,
most of which provide housing for low-income
elderly people. Your tour will take you inside the
main thoroughfares of the Pike Place Market, as well
as the Lower Levels where hidden treasures await.
Enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds that make up
this iconic landmark. At least 10% of all ticket sales
go to benefit the Pike Place Market Foundation.
They support four social service agencies for lowincome and elderly residents of downtown Seattle,
including a medical center, food bank, senior center,
and child care.

The Christmas Ship festival has been a Pacific
Northwest holiday tradition since 1949. Every year,
the Argosy Christmas ship sails to different Puget
Sound waterfront communities, over 45 in total.
Choirs onboard sing 20-minute performances to
theses communities, all broadcast via state-of-the-art
speaker system. On shore, thousands of people gather
around roaring bonfires anticipating the arrival of the
Christmas ship.

Three generations of the Boulding family will set the

their songs from their recent sojourn in Ireland,
augmented by cello, violin, whistles, accordion and
concertina. A processional with costumes will lead
