Aviation
extravaganza
takes off with
B/E Aerospace
Step on board a plane
anywhere in the world and
it is more than likely that
you will be making yourself
comfortable in a seat made
right here, in the shadow
of the beautiful Mourne
Mountains.
At B/E Aerospace Kilkeel
we manufacture around
one third of the world’s
airline seats. Our County
Down factory is part of
B/E Aerospace, the world’s
leading manufacturer
of aircraft cabin
interior products, which
designs, develops, and
manufactures a broad
range of products for both
commercial aircraft and
business jets. Founded on a
passion for innovation, we
are relentless in our pursuit
to answer every challenge
and deliver a new best:
an ethos which underpins
our diverse programme of
community engagement
as well as our approach to
business.
Our passion for aviation
is evident in everything
we do. Through our
longstanding support for
the B/E Aerospace Festival
of Flight, created and
staged by Newry, Mourne
and Down District Council,
we are delighted to take
this opportunity to share
that passion not only with
local communities, but also
with more than 100,000
visitors to the region.
Amongst that appreciative
audience will be many of
our own employees and
their families, together with
some of our international
customers, all enjoying an
event which has earned
recognition as one of
Ireland’s biggest and
most exciting air shows; a
thrilling annual highlight of
the region’s busy Summer
events schedule.
The B/E Aerospace Festival
of Flight delivers stunning
airborne spectacle,
complemented by a lively
ground level programme
of family-friendly events
and attractions. The
combination of a worldclass aerial display and
world-famous location
create a powerful draw
and one which makes an
important contribution
to the region’s tourism
economy. We are confident
that many of those who
initially come to see
the drama in the skies
will return to enjoy our
dramatic scenery at their
leisure.
Our congratulations go
to Newry, Mourne and
Down District Council
for the vision and
commitment they have
shown in developing this
exciting initiative and,
on behalf of all who will
enjoy the occasion, our
thanks go to the many
agencies, organisations
and enthusiasts who give
their time and expertise
to deliver the adrenalinepacked programme.
