Puerto Rico: The Face Of PH for the World
Given the ignorance of this enigmatic condition Pulmonary Hypertension (PH),
there have been multiple seminars and orientation activities this month. These
are in addition to efforts at international level, to be undertaken with Puerto Rican PH
patient's Luz Batista’s face. The Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA-UK),
the PH Latin Society and other patient organisations in 21 countries around the world
launched the Blue Lip Campaign. Blue lips are a symptom experienced by some
patients with PH as the result of low oxygen levels in their blood. Thousands of
patients sent their photos and stories, but the one of Batista caught the eye of the
