HERENCIA DE TIMBIQUÍ

Musical group Herencia de Timbiquí,
was named after the homonymous
Colombian municipality where their
founders come from, and consistis
of Afro proud of their roots who have
been given the task of retaking
the empirical musical knowledge from
the Colombian Pacific region (ancestral
sound of Marimba de chonta, cununos,
guasá and bombo) to merge it with
contemporary urban music elements
and a right orchestration, producing a
world music sound based on the black
roots of our Colombian Pacific coast
region, who has traveled the world.
Herencia de Timbiquí have recently been
awarded the "Gaviota de Plata" for "Best
Folk Song" with the new track “AMANECÉ”
at Viña del Mar International Song
Festival 2013, Chile.
