PRESIDENT’S LETTER
To Our Members:
When the first signs of
spring come, I’m empowered to clean out
closets, wash windows
and sweep up dustbunnies. It also inSusan Uranker, President
spires me to look for
ways to spring clean and renew my business life as well. Whether it's cleaning up
your inbox, office, old files or sales leads,
it's essential to cut clutter to spring your
business life into the new season. In the
spirit of spring cleaning, I searched the
internet and found some organizational
tips to help your business move forward.
Pamela Springer, CEO of Manta offers
these 2 tips:
“Give your email inbox a good scrub.
It’s no surprise that you feel bombarded by quirky spam, given that an
estimated 247 million emails are sent
every day, according to Email Marketing Report. If it’s difficult to decide
what’s trash and what’s treasure, it’s
time for a deep-clean of your inbox.
This doesn’t mean sacrificing your
weekend to delete junk mail; instead,
take 15 to 20 minutes at the end of
each day to sort emails into appropriate folders. Most email providers offer
support for automating clean-up,
through use of tools including
searches, labels and filters.
Spring forward. To get your entire
team engaged and excited about the
remainder of the year, schedule a
meeting to highlight key company
accomplishments and top initiatives
from the first quarter, as well as review
priorities for the months ahead. Take
time to recognize your high performing
team members, so that the collective
group is ready to spring forward for
the rest of the year.“
An article from Entrepreneur.com,
shares these useful tips:
“Dust off your mission statement.
Evaluate whether your mission and
vision still match your company's strategic goals given how much the markets have changed.
Sharpen your tools. Lots of folks
invade the garage in the spring to
inspect the tools they use outdoors,
and they usually find that the tools
need sharpening. Spring may also be
a good time for employees to review
and sharpen their skills or learn new
ones to improve work efficiency to last
the rest of the year.”
I look forward to spring and to seeing
you at upcoming chamber events. Look
inside our newsletter for details and networking opportunities.
“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”

NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
A Friend with a philosophy:
Bloom where you are planted.
Once you bloom, make your
surrounding nice and pleasant
for others.
Putrri Padbatan is a Client
Advisor with BMW of Westlake.
With more than 17 years of
Media Sales and Marketing
experience in different countries

as possible.
The Company: BMW of Westlake
About Putrri
Putrri left Malaysia from a troubled domestic situation in 2001.
She sought temporary shelter at
a friend’s in Toronto. She came
to New York City on August 29,
for legal consultation to live and
work in USA. She arrived with a
non-digital SLR Canon camera, 3
inch heels, nice business suit and
a same day return flight ticket.
Her destination was 225 Broadway. She took a shuttle bus from
Newark airport to Downtown
Manhattan, the bus stopped right
in front of Millennium Hilton,
Church St. She looked up and
saw
the World Trade Towers.
Putrri Padbatan
That was the first and last time
she saw them.
An official BMW franchise since 1986,
BMW of Westlake, formerly Ganley BMW,
has been serving Westlake, Avon, Rocky
River, Bay Village, and Avon Lake since
1999. Since opening our doors, BMW of
Westlake has maintained a solid commitment to you, our customers, offering the
widest selection of BMW vehicles and ease

Once you have chosen to buy or lease
your BMW through us, the fun has just
begun. In addition to the exhilaration you
will enjoy behind the wheels, we promise
to do everything we can to try to keep you
satisfied.
She made New York her home since that
day. Her first job in NYC was giving out flyers
on the streets of New York for a Mediterranean
Restaurant – Casablanca.
Three reasons she will always remember
her days with Casablanca: A breakfast truck
played Frank Sinatra’s songs every morning,
she may have listened to ‘New York, New York’
a million times prior to that day, BUT it was like
the first time. In tears she affirmed, she was
going to beat those trying times. At Casablanca, she split $2.00 tips with her other
colleague and that was the first and last tip she
ever made in her life. Year 2001, mildest winter in NYC, first snow on December 5, less than
an inch on the ground but that was the coldest
winter for her.
