YANKEE LAKE BALLROOM- APRIL 11, 2015
Our annual Spring Dance was once again a success! The club sold 401 pre-sale tickets, 34 door ticket sales and 422
people came through the door. There were 90+ Chinese Auction items which made for a great total sale of tickets
and the 50/50 was a great success also!
ONCE AGAIN, A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO LOU AND CHUCK BALDOFF AND KATHY AND DENNIS WEBBER, who put so much time and effort into this fundraiser for the club. Thank you too, to those who had the flyers
and tickets printed, the ticket tracker (Randy) advanced ticket sellers, advertising committee, those who volunteered
to set up and decorate as well as clean up after the dance, auction workers, 50/50 sellers, sign makers, door ticket
sellers, door ticket collector crew, those who collected or donated all of the wonderful auction gifts and door prizes
(and there were many).
When you look into all that goes into planning and putting on such a successful event as this, you realize the hard
work and effort that it takes from everyone! THANK YOU - IT COULDN’T BE DONE WITHOUT YOU!!

GET WELL WISHES TO TERI ROSE!
Teri Rose had surgery on April 27th. She
seems to be making a speedy recovery, as she
was at our May meeting!
=========================================
Mike and Betty Sebak picked up their new 2015 Z06 on
Tuesday, April 14th at the National Corvette Museum. The
color of their car is Shark Grey with Kalahari convertible top
and interior.
A one-on-one plant tour and in-depth overview of the car was
provided by Chris Sweeney, Delivery Specialist. It was quite
an experience versus picking up your car at a dealership.
The drive from Bowling Green back to PA gave them an early
opportunity to enjoy the car!
UPDATE ON BRIAN BAIR
Keep Brian in your thoughts in prayers as he
recovers from his surgery!

The Shenango Valley Corvette Club in partnership with Quaker Steak & Lube held their annual Corvette only car

Erie, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Ashtabula and Presque Isle. There were a wide variety of years and models.
We had so many cars show up were running out of space to park them!!
SVCC trophy winners: Rex, Elmer, Mike
and Ken.
A big THANK YOU to everyone
that came out to help with this

Ken Jelley Gets Top Flight Certification On His 1964 Corvette Convertible!
On April 18/19th Ken took his ‘64 to Coughlin Chevrolet in Columbus, Oh for NCRS judging. The
judging was done by the Heart of Ohio NCRS Chapter from the Columbus, Oh area. The judging
started at 10 AM and lasted until 4 PM. There were teams assigned to judge each category of the
car. 1) Interior, 2) Mechanical, 3) Paint and Body, 4) Chassis and 5) Operations.
The end result was “the car passed” and Ken was awarded a blue ribbon for “TOP FLIGHT” certification. This means that 98% of the car met or exceeded the judging standards as set forth in the
NCRS judging manual. The standard is based on how the car left the factory in 1964. Ken lost
points for the paint being TOO nice and the chrome being TOO nice - nicer than the factory produced in 1964.
Ken says it was a long, but fun experience and he learned a lot during the process. He would suggest to anyone if they have the opportunity to participate or at least to observe a judging session put
on by NCRS. He should also advise anyone with an interest in older Corvettes and/or Corvette restorations to become an NCRS member. www.ncrs.org. They are a great resource of information for
Corvette restoration through written publication, on-line data, and part & service locating.
