Responsibilities
Ensure that the goals and objectives of the grant/s and program are
being met
Supervise parent coordinators; develop and monitor work plans

Develop weekly and monthly FRC tasks/projects in a published chart
(aligning with mission/vision statement)
Oversee the planning and logistics of FRC events and activities
Facilitate weekly FRC staff meetings
Meet with principal regularly, report challenges and accomplishments
Create and maintain year long calendar
Coordinate parent leadership and development strategies and
outcomes
Develop strategies to strengthen the relationships between teachers
and the FRC staff
Develop strategies to strengthen the relationships between teachers
and parents
Manage partnerships with outside agencies
Participate in relevant school staff and leadership meetings
Provide weekly FRC updates to school staff and parent community via
newsletters
Manage FRC budget
Oversee the creation and packaging of marketing materials
Prepare for meetings with funders and present information and

Position Overview:
The FRC Director/Manager is responsible for the successful functioning of the Family
Resource Center (FRC), its impact on families and students, and supervision of Parent
Coordinators/Liaisons. This is a part time/fulltime (depending on the school) position,
and this person sets the tone for the FRC.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the goals and objectives of the grant/s and program are being met
• Supervise parent coordinators; develop and monitor work plans

Parent Coordinator Job Description – (part time position)

Position Overview:
• The Parent Coordinator is responsible for developing
partnerships with families that foster trust between families
and the school, cultivate leadership in the parent community
and support student academic achievement. The Parent
Coordinator works to carry out the goals of the school’s
Family Partnership Program / Family Resource Center.
Responsibilities: • Create a welcoming, safe, and supportive FRC environment
• Serve as a leader/role model in developing parent leadership amongst the
school’s families
• Facilitate parent meetings and leadership development
• Support the coordination of a variety of FRC activities (i.e. cultural events,
parenting workshops, computer classes, etc) and carry out tasks such as
ordering food, setting up, cleaning up, handouts, event logistics
• Communicate with parent leaders, community partners and school site
staff about various projects/event such as events, workshops, meetings,
student support, etc
• Develop and maintain a school wide parent volunteer system,
coordination of volunteer efforts and recruitment of parent volunteers
• Foster relationships/partnerships with outside community and educational
organizations
• Work with immigrant families and understand their specific
needs/concerns
• Manage referrals/cases – provide resources to families as needed
• Be familiar with all aspects/operations of the school
• Organize FRC materials/resources
• Communicate with teachers regarding FRC events and updates
• Create and distribute monthly or weekly newsletter for families
• Assist with (Spanish/Vietnamese/Mandarin) translation (oral and written if
spoken)
• Find translation when necessary
• Create and post flyers for events
• Make phone calls to parents for outreach and teacher support
• Attend weekly FRC staff meetings
