Betty Jackson Biography
This partnership sees the high quality iron
manufacturer forging stronger links with the
fashion world. Rowenta is also the official iron
sponsor of Graduate Fashion Week and their
brand ambassador is celebrity stylist David
Hawkins who has worked with various A list
celebrities including Kate Moss.
Betty Jackson is one of Britain’s most established and
internationally recognised designers. Having launched her
first collection in 1981, Jackson went on to win the esteemed
title of British Designer of the Year in 1985. Her outstanding
contribution to the British fashion industry was further
recognised in 1987 when she was awarded an MBE.
More recently, she was awarded Contemporary Designer of
the Year in 1999 at the London Fashion Awards, and appointed
visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art in 1999. Jackson
was also appointed a trustee of the V & A in 2005 and in 2007
received a CBE.
