OLDIES INVALUABLE
to youngsters
learning their trade
LOOK through any WAFL club list and
you’ll notice every side has their exciting
teenagers as well as their seasoned leaders
and veterans.
It’s a debate for another day to decide
which demographic provides more for a
WAFL club, but someone like Claremont
teenager Jesse Laurie will profess the ‘older’
players are invaluable to him as he learns his
trade.
The 19-year-old Denmark-Walpole
product has impressed in defence during
the 2010 season holding his spot in
Claremont’s top-of-the-table side and Laurie
says he’s continually learning from the club’s
seasoned leaders.
“I just take in whatever I can as I’m one
of the youngest in the team, then I’ll just try
and apply it into my game,” Laurie said.
Laurie reserves special praise for
Claremont’s 27-year-old skipper Clancy
Rudeforth who has a wealth of experience
after 137 WAFL games, the most of any of
the Tigers’ current list.
“He’s a real tough captain,” Laurie said.
“He can play back or forward, but when
he comes out his voice is amazing, he lets
you know where you should be, where you
should be running to, who you should kick it
to, so he’s definitely a massive leader at our
team.
“Down back, someone like Beau Wilkes
has got a massive amount of knowledge
and even the forwards, like Chad Jones who
really knows what he’s doing, can help out
and offer a lot of experience.”
Many argue the ladder-leading Tigers’
long list of current and former AFL players
(like Wilkes and Jones) is a key to their
success in 2010, but Laurie believes the
team’s youthfulness is an important element
too.
“Our average age is quite low compared
to a lot of teams and I think that’s what really
helping us move along at the moment. I
know there’s some big names there, but the
youth is excelling as well,” said ahead of his
team’s clash with East Perth this weekend.
“They’re playing for a spot in the finals
and they’ve been doing really well lately, so
they’ll throw everything at us.
“It’d be great to keep our winning streak
going, as the vibe at the club’s really good at
the moment. I think if we can just play our
game we can hopefully get another win on
the board.”

CLAREMONT’S Jesse Laurie has made
a move in the voting for the Best First

equal second after picking up top votes in
Round 13.
Perth had the bye, but Aaron Elari still
leads the tally board with 19 votes, seven
ahead of Laurie and Clint Garlett.
To be eligible for votes in the Best First
Year Country Player Award, players must have
played eight games or less at the start of
the 2010 season and be aged 21 or under at
the end of the season. AFL-listed rookies are
eligible to win the award as long as they are
not elevated to the senior AFL list throughout
the season.
Votes are allocated by the WA Country
Football League each week, with a maximum
of three given to any one player, with no limit
to the number of players who can be allocated
votes (3, 2 or 1).

Flashback
60 wins and 13 losses. These figures include
‘neutral’ games against joint tenant, East
Perth.
In other club milestones:
SUBIACO will play its 200th game at
Leederville Oval (Medibank Stadium) this
weekend when it takes on Perth.
The Lions’ record at this ground against
all opponents stands at 96 wins, 101 losses
and two draws.
Of the current day Lions players, Chad
Cossom and Marc Webb have played the
most games for Subiaco at Leederville (each
with 72 games). Webb played one game for
Perth at Leederville, taking his career tally to
73 games at the ground and he has played
in 59 wins there (all for Subiaco). Cossom
has played in 57 wins at the oval.
Since making Leederville its home
ground in 2004 after shifting from Subiaco
Oval, Subiaco has played 73 games there for
Marc Webb and Chad Cossom in action
at Leederville Oval (Medibank Stadium)
Q: Why would there be three WAFL games
played on a Sunday and only one on a
Saturday (as was the case in Round 12)?
Also, when clubs play for trophies like
the Haydn Bunton Cup, why are they not
presented to the winners on the ground?
Lastly, why do clubs sometimes play
reserves games after the league fixture?
From Les Arnott.
A: The three issues that cause most debate
in fixturing are Saturday versus Sunday
games (and Fridays for that matter), equal
breaks between games and the avoidance
of AFL games.
The preferred timeslot has always been
Saturday afternoon and generally this is where
our games are played unless it is to avoid an
AFL game or to take advantage of balmy Perth
nights at the start or end of the season.
The other factor to consider is our
obligation to play one game every Saturday
afternoon to be played on ABC TV. The
estimated TV audiences indicate to us that
this is a very popular aspect of our game.
In respect to Round 12, six teams played
on the previous Monday (Foundation Day)
and Perth and Peel played on the previous
Saturday, with Swans having the Foundation
weekend bye. The teams playing Perth, Peel and
Swans in Round 12 wanted to maximise their
break, which means playing on the Sunday.
To honour our commitment to the ABC
the East Fremantle and West Perth game was
chosen as both these teams played on the
Monday so, at least, they had an equal break
between games. In discussing this with the
clubs when preparing the 2010 fixture they
felt that the break between games for players
should have a greater weighting than playing
on a Sunday up against the AFL.
I am sure that this point will engage further
debate.
The presentation of Cups for particular
games has recognised some great players in
the WAFL. Charlie Tyson, Greg Brehaut and
Haydn Bunton are some who are recognised
in this way. On-field presentations are stymied
somewhat by the WAFL allowing people onto
the grounds after games for a kick. Not all
clubs have the manpower to secure an area to
make these presentations.
You may have noticed that Subiaco
recently played a reserves game under lights
and some clubs have played colts games after

Claremont is chasing its 50th win against
East Perth at Claremont Oval where the
Tigers’ record currently stands at 49 wins
and 64 losses from 113 clashes.
Swan Districts’win against South Fremantle
last Saturday was its 650th win in WAFL
competition matches.
Anthony Tsalikis’ 106th game in Round 13
was his 50th match at the Arena Joondalup
while Perth’s Scott Siekierka reached a
ground milestone tally of 50 league games
at EFTel Oval two weeks ago in Round 11
versus Peel Thunder.
Blake Broadhurst (Subiaco) will play his
92nd match overall next week and it will
be his 50th at Medibank Stadium.
the league games.
This enables these
players to play
under lights in a
slightly different
than
normal
routine.
These players
have enjoyed the
change to routine
whilst clubs can
still keep their
support
staff
together for three consecutive
games on the one day. The other
benefit when the four weekly
colts, reserves and league games are not
all played at the same time is that it allows
our State coaches and AFL recruiting staff to
view more games.

More Subiaco Diehards
honoured
SUBIACO will wear a heritage jumper in its
game against Perth this Saturday in honour
of the five men who will be inducted as
Diehards at a function later that night.
The jumper is a replica of the one worn by
the club in 1953-54 and it will bear the names
of every player to have represented Subiaco at
league level since 1901.
The five inductees are Peter German, Alby
Hawkins, Brad Smith, George Young and David
Williams.
This is the third induction of Subiaco
Diehards and is supported by long-term
Subiaco sponsors QBE Insurance.
In 2000, the club’s 100th year in the State
League competition, the Lions recognised the
100 people who had significantly contributed
to the welfare and perpetuity of the club over
100 years.
These esteemed people were to be known
as “Diehards”, the name used by Dr Ken
Spillman as the title to the book which depicts
the club’s rich history.
It was further decided to honour an
additional five Diehards every five years in
order that those whose contribution was
worthy of this form of recognition were duly
recognised. In 2005 Brian Singleton (dec),
Bill Monaghan, Nathan O’Connor, Ron (Chic)
Jackman and Brian Sierakowski were added to
this illustrious list.
“Those selected are extremely honoured
to be placed in a rare group of people of
being recognised as having had the greatest
influence and impact on forging the history
of our club in the past 110 years,” Subiaco
president Neil Randall said.
Brad Smith
The 2010 Diehards
Peter German – After a distinguished playing
career with North Melbourne German has
become a successful coach, with stints at
Burnie, Hawthorn and West Coast before
coaching Subiaco from 2003 to 2006. His four
years at SFC yielded four minor premierships,
three Rodriguez Shields, three grand final
appearances and two WAFL premierships in
2004 and 2006.
In his four years there many other
significant awards, winning two John Todd
Medals as premiership coach, he coached
two Sandover medallists, three Bernie Naylor
Medals and four Simpson Medals.
During his reign Subiaco players
represented WA on 25 occasions and a record
10 representatives in 2005. He was also coach
of the State team in 2006. German is the most
successful coach in the club’s history.
Alby Hawkins -- Alby is in his 26th year
of service at the club (17 of those as head
trainer) and has been a part of some historic
seasons with the Lions. He has strapped,
taped, massaged and iced his way to six Lions
premierships (1986, 1988, 2004, 2006, 2007 and
2008). In 2007 Subiaco acknowledged
Alby’s outstanding service and named the
Trainers’ Room at Medibank Stadium in his
honour - “The Alby Hawkins Trainers’ Room”.
Alby received a WAFC Volunteer Award
in 1999 and in 2000 he was awarded life
membership of the Club.
Brad Smith -- Brad came to the club as a raw
16 year old and after playing two years of colts
he progressed to the reserves. His passage to
league football was anything but plain sailing.
After making his league debut at 19 in 1999
he played just two games that year. At a time
when Subiaco was craving for success Brad
became frustrated at his lack of opportunities
and chose to play in the country for a year or
so. It was on his return that made his mark on
the WAFL and it is no coincidence that he was
integral to Subiaco’s golden era of the 2000s.
After being picked up by West Coast
as a mature-aged AFL draftee in 2005, he
suffered knee injuries that required two knee
reconstructions and his chances of playing at
that level were shattered.
His career included 140 SFC games and
530 Goals. He was the 2003, 2004, 2007 and
2008 WAFL leading goal kicker and also SFC’s
leading goal kicker2000, 2003, 2004, 2007 and
2008.
Brad won the Simpson Medal in the
2007 grand final and he was the club’s 2007
Outridge medallist. He capped off his career
being a three-time SFC premiership player in
2004, 2007 and 2008 and in 2003 and 2004 he
was a State Representative.
Brad was SFC’s co-captain in 2009 and
in the same year he was awarded SFC Life
Membership
12
George Young -- George played 77 games for
Subiaco from 1969-79. He represented the
State on 10 occasions and was selected as an
All Australian in the 1972 carnival.
George played 21 games in his first season
(1969). Under playing coach Haydn Bunton,
Subiaco played in the first semi-final in 1969
and 1970. The next two years the club rebuilt
and young teammates such as Ron Bayens,
Denis Blair, Peter Featherby, Mike Fitzpatrick,
Mick Malone, Neil Randall and Keith Watt
become stars in their own right.
George was selected in the touring state
team in only his second year of league football
and he went on to become a regular State
representative for WA. He moved east after
the 1972 season and missed the long-awaited
1973 premiership.
George was a highly skilled quality player
and he was rewarded with selection on half
forward flank in Subiaco’s Team of the Century
in 2008.
From 1973-78 George played 108 games
for St Kilda, kicking 284 goals and was their
leading goalkicker in 1975, 76, 77 and 78. In
one game he kicked 10 goals against Fitzroy.
George returned to Subiaco in 1979 before
succumbing to a knee injury.
David Williams – Had the foresight and
negotiation skills that provided long-term
financial sustainability for the club. David
was president from 1988-92. During his reign
SFC won the premiership in 1988 and were
runners-up in 1991.
In 1988 it was David’s legal background
that convinced the WAFL that Laurie Keene
was eligible to play in the WAFL finals. David,
with Michael Flanagan, was instrumental in
having an Australian Football game played in
Vancouver Canada.
David was the driving force behind SFC
retaining its “bundle of rights”, relating to
playing, training and control of signage, at
Subiaco Oval following government decisions
to take over control of Subiaco Oval. It was
through the leadership and initiative of
Williams that Subiaco achieved a legally
binding “Heads of Agreement” that provided
certain rights and privileges until 2011.

GAME
PREVIEWS
Subiaco v Perth
Look for: The Lions’ response on
the back of three straight losses.
Fourth-placed Subiaco will be
smarting after fading late to allow
East Perth to win by eight points
last weekend.
Incredibly, last year’s beaten
grand finalists have not won
since May 15 but they’ll fancy
their chances of putting an end
to that when they face cellar
dwellers Perth on Saturday. The
Demons claimed their one and
only victory of the season three
weeks ago against struggling
Peel but have since lost to the
Bulldogs at Wongan Hills before
having the bye last week.
These two sides met during
the Easter weekend in Round
3, with Subiaco running out
36-point winners at EFTel Oval.
Shaun Hildebrandt and Marc
Webb won a lot of footy on that
day and the Demons will need to
stop their output if they’re going
to give themselves a chance of
knocking off the Lions.
Hildebrandt
was
again
amongst the Lions’ best against
the Royals last weekend,
maintaining his strong 2010 form,
while other winners were Kyal
Horsley (18 disposals) and Blake
Broadhurst (four goals). Before
the bye, Scott Siekierka and
Tendai Mzungu were Perth’s best
in the loss to South Fremantle.
Looking good in the ressies:
Timothy Viney and Ryan Sheehan
were the chief ballwinners for
Subiaco in the narrow loss to
the Royals in the reserves last
weekend, while for the Demons,
prior to the bye, Dene White was
impressive while Bradley Fry
kicked five majors.
Overall record: Subiaco
won 155, Perth won 162.
Overall grand final
record: Subiaco won 2,
Perth won 0
Claremont v East Perth
Look for: The in-form and
improving Royals to press for a
major upset here, while the Tigers
hope to push on as they stride
towards the minor premiership.
East Perth, boosted by former
AFL star Andrew Lovett’s recent
arrival at the club, has set itself for
a strong finish to the season as it
tries to make the finals after a slow
start to the year. The Royals have
won their last three matches but
face a tough month ahead with the
top three sides to come, although
they did knock off fourth-placed
Subiaco last Saturday.
Claremont continued on their
merry way last weekend with a
solid 65-point victory over the
Falcons at Joondalup. Chad Jones
kicked another six goals, while the
midfield brigade of Luke Blackwell
(36 touches) and Ryan Brabazon
(33 disposals) impressed again.
The Tigers, who are on a run
of five consecutive victories,
triumphed by six goals the last
time these two clubs met. On that
day, Claremont held off a spirited
third-term challenge from the
Royals. East Perth, though, will
be boosted this time around by
Lovett’s presence and he found
some form last week with 22
touches and two goals.
Looking good in the ressies:
Places in the Tigers’ senior team
are at a premium at the moment,
but teenager Ryan Neates pressed
for a run after gathering 25
touches, while Matt Orzel won a
lot of the football too. Jason Lalich
and Thomas Howlett were again
amongst the Royals’ best.
Overall record: Claremont won
109, East Perth won 144, drawn 2.
Overall grand final record:
Claremont won 1, East Perth won 2
Swan Districts v East Fremantle
Look for: An intriguing clash
between two evenly-matched
sides pushing for a top two berth
this season.
Second-placed Swans are
flying at the moment, on the back
of seven consecutive victories,
while the third-placed Sharks
are only a game and percentage
behind them. East Fremantle has
won three of its past four WAFL
matches but faces a challenging
month ahead which could define
its season.
Andrew
Krakouer
(27
possessions)
continued
his
excellent form for Swan Districts
in last weekend’s hard-fought
21-point victory over the Bulldogs,
while skipper Josh Roberts was
brilliant running out of defence.
Swans forward Tim Geappen also
kicked five goals.
East Fremantle recorded an
emphatic 132-point triumph over
struggling Peel last Saturday, with
Fremantle-listed Ben Bucovaz
kicking seven goals while fellow
AFL players Steven Dodd, Tim
Houlihan and Matt Spangher were
also amongst the best.
Looking good in the ressies:
For the Swans, James Embley
was good again with 33 disposals
while Josh Pullman hauled in 13
marks and kicked three goals. For
East Fremantle, teenager Louis
Cronan kicked four goals, while
Eagles squad member Chris
Masten returned from injury with
12 touches.
Overall record: Swan Districts
won 82, East Fremantle won 135,
drawn 2.
Overall grand final record: Swan
Districts won 3, East Fremantle
won 2.

Peel v South Fremantle
Look for: South Fremantle’s Chris
Bossong (150 WAFL games) and
Kyle Hams (100 WAFL games
for the Bulldogs) to celebrate
milestones with a win against the
woefully out-of-sorts Thunder.
Last year’s premiers slipped to
seventh following last weekend’s
21-point loss to Swans but with
other finals contenders failing to
win, they’ll know victory here can
get them back into the top four
race. Kris Miller (34 possessions)
and Adam Guglielmana (25
disposals and two goals) were
their best against Swan Districts.
This game will be played at
Rockingham’s Anniversary Park,
which isn’t good news for Peel
who have notched their only
two victories this season down in
Mandurah. Their recent form has
been very poor and last Saturday’s
132-point loss to the Sharks
doesn’t offer any hope either.
Peel coach Trevor Williams
wants his side to focus on winning
more quarters of footy, but it’s hard
to see them being good enough
to do much damage against the
Bulldogs in this one. When the two
sides met earlier in the season, it
was South Fremantle by 84 points.
Looking good in the ressies:
Peel’s woes extended to their
reserves side last weekend, as
they managed just one goal in
a 104-point thrashing from the
Sharks and they had few winners.
For the Bulldogs, Cory Dell-Olio
had 26 touches and kicked four
goals, while former Docker Josh
Head snagged seven majors.
Overall record: Peel won 5, South
Fremantle won 28.
Overall grand final record:

This month the Year 4/5 students of

learning the skills and values of football that

Kallaroo teacher and AFL School

“They’ve been very excitable. It’s got them

weeks. Everyone’s here today, no one’s off sick

According to Mr Jennings, the program

MUSLIM students from the Australian
Islamic College, Kewdale, helped launch
an Australian-designed sports headscarf,
during an ultimate classroom experience
at Subiaco Oval recently.
The Uniscarfe features a singular
garment piece designed as an active
alternative that is helping to introduce
new cultures and religions to the game of
Australian Rules Football.
Russell Higgins, WAFC Multicultural
Coordinator, thanked the Australian Islamic
College Kewdale for their continual support
of AFL programs and their dedication
to growing the game in the Muslim
community.
“The Uniscarfe is a garment that breaks
down barriers to allow Muslim females
to participate in AFL football. I especially
like the idea of having school-coloured
Uniscarfes that could be coordinated with
the colours of school football jumpers,” he
said.
“ Basically it is a comfortable,
functional garment which addresses the
needs of Muslim women.”
healthy lifestyles, discipline and team work.
Mr Woodhouse was impressed with the
design of the course.
“Today they’ve looked at the history of
footy as a literacy exercise, used the oval
for observation, estimation and measuring.
They learnt how to prepare a healthy lunch.
The drama activity was amazing. They did
a mock tribunal and acted out a whole
hearing,” he said.
The day is split into four quarters and
imitates a football environment, where
the teacher becomes their coach, their
classmates become their teammates and a
team captain is nominated.
Students gain points and penalties based
on their behavior and the winning ‘team’
receives a prize. Question sheets are to be
filled out by the students as they progress
and the final assessment is determined by
their school teacher.
“It’s been unbelievable, the learning side.
It’s just something they wouldn’t normally
do,” Mr Woodhouse said.
Mr Woodhouse said the highlights for
the students included the initial impact
of walking into Subiaco Oval, visiting the
West Coast and Fremantle training rooms,
meeting West Coast’s live eagle mascot,
Auzzie, and the football training session.
The football training session is a key
element of the program that introduces
children to the rules and skills of Australian
Rules Football. For some, it’s their first
exposure to the game.
“We’ve got a young kid from South
Africa here, and a girl from the UK who has
only been here a few days, and we’ve got a
football in their hands. And I would say our
best player today is a New Zealand boy!” Mr
Woodhouse said.
Students from many different cultural
backgrounds are being introduced to
Australian Rules Football through the
Ultimate Classroom program, including
those from the Australian Islamic College in
Kewdale, one of 10 schools to participate so
far this year.
The sports Hijab helps young Islamic girls
partake in Australia’s favourite game.
Girls from the Australian Islamic College
enjoy their footy session in the Ultimate
Classroom.

Treeby breaks new ground for female umpires
FIELD umpire Amy Treeby has become the first female on record to
reach the pinnacle of Community Football by field umpiring an A
Grade Amateur match.
Female boundary and goal umpires have been appointed to A
Grade games before, but not their field umpiring counterparts.
Treeby, who is also hearing impaired, was thrilled with the A Grade
appointment, saying it was another step towards furthering her
umpiring career.
“The game was fantastic to umpire, the speed, skills and intensity
of the game were superb and I loved being a part of it,” she said.
“My umpiring goal is to continue on the pathway to the WAFL and
to see how far I can go. I enjoy the challenge of umpiring and every
game is a learning experience.”
Around five years ago whilst at the height of her football playing
career, Treeby decided to take up umpiring with the South Fremantle
Junior District to compliment her game and fitness.
Her impressive playing career saw her represent West Australian
five times at the National Women’s Carnival, including All Australian
selection, while also being part of two Division 1 premierships with
the Melville Dockers and East Fremantle Sharks in the WA Women’s
Football League.
With all the makings of success in her chosen sport, Treeby decided
to retire from playing at the end of season 2009 after her final carnival
representing the Black and Gold and decided to focus 100 per cent on
her umpiring career.
She had been accepted into the Umpiring Talent Pathway in 2008
however was not able to commit as much as she would of liked due
to her playing commitments.
After a solid pre-season and further commitment to her umpiring,
Treeby was rewarded in Round 5 of the Amateur season with an A
Grade appointment to the match between Fremantle CBC and Mount
Lawley.
After a look back through history, and discussions with those
involved closely with Amateur Umpiring over many decades, Treeby
was recognised as the first female to achieve the feat.
With further development and an increase in her fitness levels, Treeby
could make her mark on the WAFL scene sooner rather than later.
The WA Umpiring Talent Pathway has proven to be an outstanding
success over the past decade with over 90 per cent of current WAFL
Amy Treeby, pictured with fellow field umpires Cameron Dee and
Craig Bowden, has become the first ever female field umpire to
officiate an A Grade game.
umpires having progressed through this pathway. The most notable
of late is current WA based AFL umpire Jeff Dalgleish.

North Beach not to be underestimated
COMPETITION is remarkably tight in A
Grade, with results from this week proving
vital in the race toward the finals.
North Beach is once again sitting atop
the ladder, with its recent form showing that
underestimating them would be foolish,
however with only one game separating
third from eighth the top five is far from
determined.
Fifth-placed Mt Lawley this week has the
considerable challenge of going up against
the reigning premiers at Hamer Park, a win sure
to upset the order of the top five. In their last
meeting in Round 3, North Beach dominated
at home, defeating Mt Lawley by 71 points.
North Beach is hot on the heels of an
imposing win last week against Trinity Aquinas,
18.6 (114) to 6.9 (45) with Dean Brennan top
scoring with eight goals for North Beach.
Trinity Aquinas takes on North Fremantle
at Bill Grayden Reserve this week, and with
both sides sitting on a 5-5 record this match
will be crucial in their hopes for a top five
finish. Last time these two sides met it was at
Gil Fraser where North Fremantle picked up
the impressive win, 17.13 (115) to 8.6 (54).
North Fremantle will need to show a return
to form as they pursue a finals spot; last week’s
win over Wembley their first in five rounds.
Fremantle CBC looks to pull away from the
division logjam when they head to Henderson
Park to face Wembley. The second-placed CBC
North Beach is once again
sitting atop the ladder, with
its recent form showing
that underestimating
them would be foolish,
however with only one
game separating third from
eighth the top five is far
from determined.
picked up the win in their last encounter 14.17
(101) to Wembley’s 8.10 (58).
Wembley’s woes continued last week as
they lost their ninth game of the season, by 47
points to North Fremantle at Gil Fraser.
A win for CBC and an upset loss for the inform North Beach this week would put them
neck and neck, separated only by percentage,
and in a prime position heading into the
finals.
Stirling is looking to take as many wins
away from aspiring top five squads as they
look to avoid relegation, with wins against
Trinity Aquinas and Whitford in the last two
rounds.
Stirling is coming into this week’s match
having defeated Whitford 15.11 (101) to 11.12
(78) at Richard Guelfi Reserve last Saturday,
showing the danger they pose to teams
looking to make the finals.
With last week’s win in hand as well as a
surprise seven point win over Trinity Aquinas
before the break, Stirling will now need to win
five of its last eight games to avoid the trip
down to B Grade.
This week at Richard Guelfi they take on a
University team wanting to assert itself and
consolidating its position on the ladder.
University defeated Stirling the last time
they matched up by 23 points, and is coming
into this Saturday’s game after a solid win over
Mt Lawley last week.
Wesley Curtin has produced some of the
most entertaining and close games this season
and this week’s match-up against Whitford at
South Oval looks to be no different. This was
undoubtedly the match of the round when
these two sides met in Round 3, with Wesley
Curtin edging out Whitford 10.14 (74) to 11.5
(71) at MacDonald Reserve.
Last week Wesley Curtin was on the other
side of a heartbreaking loss despite leading
at all the breaks, going down to CBC at Moris
Buzacott by three points.
This week’s match will be a must win for
Whitford, who are in danger of missing out on
a top five finish with just one win from the last
five rounds.
