The town is included in the Morristown, Tennessee MSA and is also a service enter for the per‐ manent residents in the resort community of Baneberry (pop. 482) which lies on Douglas Lake four miles from White Pine. White Pine is less than three miles from Exits 4 and 8 on Interstate 81, and is only five miles from Interstate 40 via TN 113. Located in White Pine just off Interstate 81 Exit 8, The Smoky Mountain Expo Center and Equestrian Complex attracts tens of thousands of people to the area each year. The 98,000 square foot main arena seats more than 4,000 people and plays host to more than 60 events annually, including horse and livestock shows, BMX racing, boat and RV shows, concerts, high school and college graduation ceremonies and rodeos. In the resort community of Baneberry, the Baneberry Golf and Resort features an 18‐hole golf course, multiple accommodation offerings, a full service restaurant and lounge, an Olympic sized swimming pool, and six hard surfaced tennis courts. Two outparcels remain available for 5,565 VPD TN 113 sale in the Food City/Family Dollar development. Around Exit 8 19,745 VPD US 25E there are three lodging establishments, a Parkway Inn, Super 8 Motel and a Best Western. There is also a Hardee’s and Cracker Barrel at the exit.
