r Larry Benge, owner of the prestigious Bond Street Dental
clinic, situated in South Yarra in Melbourne, engaged Conteco
to design and construct one of the most innovative state-of-the-art
dental facilities Melbourne has to offer.
Due to Bond Street Dentals ever expanding client base, Dr
Benge had a three-stage plan which includes expanding the
business through to shop fronts on the opposite side of the street.
Like all good plans, this began as a rough sketch on a single sheet
of paper, from which Conteco developed and then guided the
project through to completion.
Design and construct builder
The challenge
The challenge put to Conteco was to create this state of the art
facility whilst the practice remained in operation and to ensure
no disturbance to occupants. To make this a realisation, diligent
daily communication, meticulous planning and a flexible and
courteous construction team was essential. Dr Benge commented,
“The Conteco team were extremely flexible and considerate to our
operational requirements of minimal noise, no dust and ensured
such works were completed outside of trading hours.”
This allowed the surgery to remain open whilst under
construction.

stop shop”. This allows the practice to focus on their day-to-day
business.
Savings tip
A tip for saving on time and cost is to ensure your floor plan is
complimentary to the base building services (i.e. plumbing and
electrical) layout, where possible.
Working with existing layouts, guarantees large cost savings.
Conteco’s design and construction team scrutinised all facets of
this design, to ensure an economical construction solution was
realised.

requirements of the practice.
