Santos Basin ŚBrazil Ś BM-S-50/52 3D Pre-salt trend and adjacent to the most prolific fields and discoveries in northern Santos Basin. The hydrocarbon plays within the BMS-50/52 survey area are: A. Post-Salt: Albian limestones; Upper Cretaceous to Lower Tertiary turbidites in subtle traps; B. Rift/Pre-rift sanstones and basalts in the central-western area and, C. Sag/Rift Aptian pre-salt microbial limestones. By analogy with other areas in Santos, the BMS-50/52 area has a large hydrocarbon exploration potential, with possibilities for significant light-oil discoveries. Most important trends are the pre-salt targets: Sagitario trend and the Carcará-Itaipava trend. Pre-salt exploration trends in the southern part of the survey area are the lowest-risk, most attractive opportunities and the GeoStreamerŭseismic data (Ph II) affords improved sub-salt imaging and identification of potential reservoir sweep-spots.
