Travel Agents Can See Stars, Reap Rewards
From Booking Luxury Lodging At Primland
Meadows of Dan, VA (June, 2010) – Travel agents can see stars and reap rewards by
booking Primland, the ultimate escape in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where the
Lodge features a telescope that can see galaxies 27 million light years away and the spa is
out of this world.
A leader in outdoor adventures such as hunting and fishing, Primland stepped into the
upper echelon of great getaways in the U.S. with a top-ranked golf course that has
attracted international attention; a lodge that takes luxury to new heights; and a spa
unique because of its combination of American Indian treatments with the best in
European technology.
Nestled in the heart of the Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, next to the Blue Ridge
Parkway and the famous Mabry’s Mill, The Highland Course At Primland was ranked in
2007 by Travel and Leisure Golf as one of America’s 10 best new courses. And in
January, 2008, Golf Digest named it best new public course in America ($75 and over).
It also ranks in the top 25 of Golfweek’s annual survey of best resorts in the U.S.
Primland consists of 12,000 acres of land – a property the size of Bermuda - that
meanders through more than 90 miles of roads and trails.
Focal point of the property is the magnificent 72,000 square foot Lodge that overlooks
the first tee and the 18th green and takes advantage of the property’s spectacular scenery.
There are 26 luxurious rooms and suites in nine different floor plans that provide
exceptionally comfortable mountain top accommodations.

-2In addition to the spa, Lodge amenities include an indoor pool, spa, fitness center,
recreation area, a ballroom, Elements dining room and The 19th Pub, golf shop, locker
rooms, a fully outfitted board room and movie theater.
The Great Room also provides distant views, matching fireplaces and is in close
proximity to the two-story glass-walled wine room.
Alternative Accommodations
Three two-bedroom fairway cottages with views of the 10th and 18th fairways are also
available. These units are fashionably furnished, very comfortable and available for rent
by golfers or those who seek the solace of beauty amid the mountains. The cottages have
been designed to blend in with the landscape and come with three options:
The Cardinal, the largest with two separate suites, one with full kitchen, living room and
one-and-a-half bathrooms can be booked alone as a one-bedroom suite or with the
adjacent deluxe room.
The Woodpecker, with the same amenities as The Cardinal, can also be rented as a
whole or as two separate entities.
And The Sparrow, identical in size to The Woodpecker with all the same attributes and
rental opportunities.
All the cottages have been tastefully designed with trendy European modern furniture,
large LCD TVs, wireless high-speed internet access, natural gas fireplaces and top-ofthe-line appliances. In addition, all have wrap-around porches with outdoor furniture to
take full advantage of all the scenic surroundings.
In recent years, Primland has focused on attracting hunters and fishermen, many of whom
come for a few days and rent one of the existing 12 mountain homes and cabins on the
property.
Accommodations on the estate vary in size and style from one to seven bedrooms. All
have breathtaking views of the mountains, the forests or the countryside.
For the hunters, the options include upland style wingshooting for pheasant, quail, chukar
partridge, whitetail deer hunts and spring gobbler hunting. All hunts are fully guided by
expert staff.
Fishermen enjoy casting for rainbow, brown or brook trout in the headwaters of the Dan
River, in an area known as the Grand Canyon of Virginia.
