EBC’s Bible-based Standards for Giving
Members are expected to fulfill their divine duty of tithing/returning to God
10% of their income to help underwrite Kingdom work, including EBC’s
array of outreach ministries. These serve real people—at home and abroad
—during a time of especially pressing need.
Members who are working toward tithing—and trying to trust God more in
this crucial area - are expected to give 5% of their income.
Visitors previously were not asked to donate to this arm of God’s Kingdom. In
light of EBC’s growing efforts to meet the real needs of real people—and
EBC’s overall bid to encourage giving, which enlarges the giver and glorifies
God—we’re asking visitors to make a weekly sacrificial offering of $20.

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my
house. And, thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts: See if I will not

Corporation Counsel Zachary W. Carter, head of the New York City Law
Department, has selected veteran Assistant Corporation Counsel Muriel
Goode-Trufant to the position of Managing Attorney. Goode-Trufant, who
has worked at the office for over 24 years and who most recently served as
Chief of the Special Federal Litigation Division and Equal Employment
Opportunity (EEO) Officer and, as such, was a member of the
office’s executive management team.
