Letter From the General Manager
Spring is here and we are looking forward to a season of growth
and activity at the Club. This is starting as a very exciting year
with the return of Girlfriend Night and Friday Nights Live in
February, and the addition of Paint Nite! We have also added two
“Art Galleries” to the property in the Sunroom and Clubroom for you to enjoy
and make purchases. These galleries are the work of local artists, with the current
series from the Art Visions Gallery and Studio in Wirtz, VA. Come take a look
and add to your personal collection.
March promises to be equally active with the continuation of these events, a
rescheduled Comedy Night on March 7th at 6:30PM, and our annual Daddy
Daughter Dance March 28th at 6PM. This is an event especially designed for
fathers and daughters to have a unique, Fairy Tale evening together at the Club.
The evening includes dinner, photos, a debutante style introduction of daughters
and of course a dance. All dads on the dancefloor!
March is also the official beginning of Golf season and we are looking for
your family to join us for the many options in lessons, clinics and golf play. The
Men’s Golf Association begins its season with the annual golf trip to Myrtle
Beach. This year we venture to Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach March 1-4,
2015. Check in with our PGA Golf Professional, Ryan Robertson, for open
spaces. Spring Kickoff is March 28th!
Tennis continues to offer weekly clinics for beginners and aerobic benefits,
while winter clinics will finish up for juniors this month. Look for schedules for
spring sessions and check out our website and Facebook pages for information on
Summer Camps!
Planning a company, organizational or family event? Consider our beautiful
facilities. Membership is not required in order to hold an event here and our team
of professionals is prepared to assist you with every detail of any dining, golf, or
tennis function. Hunting Hills provides the perfect backdrop for your special
occasion!

2015 CLUB ROOM DINING HOURS
Day
Welcome to 2015!
The food and beverage department has made some
changes this year. First, for those of you who haven’t
met me, I want to introduce myself. My name is
Shayla Frith and I am your new Dining and
Banquet Manager. My restaurant experience began
at age 16 in both front and back of the house
positions. My strengths are in service, bartending
and management. I am here for you and welcome
your suggestions, comments and concerns.
We want the club to be an extension of your home, a
place you are excited to visit and of which you are
happy to be a part. I will be assisting members and
non-members with special events and parties, and
making sure the service and bar staff is well trained
and ready to serve you. I will update our website
calendar and dining section with the current week’s
menus and events. I would like to take this moment
to mention how important reservations are for Prime
Rib Night, Seafood Night, Kids Club and special
events. Advance reservations help both the chef and
staff plan each evening to be sure we are prepared to
make the club relaxed and efficient each evening.
They also help the club keep our food prices competitive to the area.
Changes/Updates/Things to look forward to:
We have newly designed menus for Clubroom
dining, Sports Bar and for your special events. Please
go to our website’s dining page to take a look at all
the new options as well as club favorites.

Buyer’s Club a Resounding Success
Since purchasing the golf shop from the Club, I have worked tirelessly to provide the
membership with the highest quality golf products at affordable AND competitive
prices. The Buyer’s Club has been a large part of that endeavor and through its success
these last two years we have created a great partnership. For those who are new to the
Hunting Hills or have not been exposed to the Buyer’s Club, it is a simple concept
employed by many retailers throughout the country. You pay an upfront yearly fee and receive discounts
on your purchases throughout the year. In our case, the fee is only $100. But the discounts are
tremendous. 25% off all soft goods (shirts, shoes, apparel) and 10% above wholesale cost on all hard
goods (clubs, golf balls). The savings add up – a $79.99 shirt becomes $59.99 instantly. A $400 driver goes
down to $315-$325. A set of irons that would retail at $1,000 were sold last year for $750!
All current Buyer’s Club members will be auto-enrolled for 2015 unless they decide not to utilize the
service this year. If you are not currently enrolled but would like to join, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Every year I give one free lesson to all Buyer’s Club members as a ‘Thank You’ for their support and that
offer is extended to everyone!

TAKE IT FROM A PRO
Think of a "V" shape when hitting volleys. The base of the "V" is near
your feet, and the top of the "V" is out from your shoulders. Use this
visual concept to adjust your hitting contact point depending upon the
height of the incoming ball. The lower the ball comes at you, the closer
you want it to your body before you hit it. The higher the ball comes, the
farther away from your body you want it when you hit it. Knowing
where to contact the ball when volleying will really help you to win points
at the net. Call John or Steve f you'd like further info about this concept!
