2015 Season Newsletter # 2
END OF SEASON
September 2015
Report from the Committee
[Date]
Thank you to all our players, coaches and officials for another
memorable season of netball. This season was blessed with some
good weather and seemed to go relatively smoothly for all of us.
The girls all seemed to be enjoying their sport and the feedback
from the coaches and parents alike indicated that the overall
experience was of the girls taking so much out of their netball
experiences, regardless of win or lose, they loved playing netball.
Thanks to recent increases in memberships (up about 25% from the previous years) the club was in a good
financial position in 2015 to invest in some additional coaching and umpiring resources. We hope to expand
on this further in 2016 and the club is currently applying for a Netball Queensland grant to conduct training
for our junior umpires and coaches, and for further training to higher levels for our experienced umpires and
coaches. We would welcome any expressions of interest to coach or umpire in 2016, as some of this training
is likely to take place in February alongside the specialist coaching the club will be organising at this time.
We have also conducted a full audit of our uniforms and equipment and will be in a position to upgrade items
needed for the start of next season due to a surplus to budget in these accounts for the 2015 season.
Equipment and new season uniform supplies will be available from early 2016 from sign-on.
This upcoming season we will be moving to full on-line registration/payments. We are
also introducing new and more flexible registration categories. Our new system will
open in early 2016. Enquiries for the new season however are welcome at any time.

Many of our girls this season trained and played rep netball at
association level from age U13 up, against other associations,
and also with Netball QLD regional and state level programs.
Many of the regional programs mirror those of the State
League competition, Qld's premier competition. The regional
programs encourage these young ladies to keep developing to
a level to prepare them to trial for positions with one of the
State League teams. Bluejays closest State League team is the
Brisbane West Lions, who are one of twelve regional teams.

SEASON REPORT – 2015 SEASON
Thank you to all our teams, coaches, team managers and parents for a very successful 2015.
The Bluejays Netball Club had 32 teams this year, an increase on 2014. To enable the club to support the
players with the required levels of coaching, supervision and assistance the club expanded on its officials in 2015 to
meet the club’s growing number of netballers. We thank all the volunteers who assisted in 2015 and each year to help
run each of our teams at training, work with the club with its requirements, and look after each of your teams on game
day. With your support we were able to have a great 2015 season. Thank you to all those who volunteered in 2015
season for canteen, set up and pack up, and other club and association duties during the season.

SEASON
REPORTS – TEAM REPORTS
Bluejays Team 26 – Christine Killip
Bluejays Team 26, or "Shooting Stars" as the girls called
themselves, had an amazing first season of netball. From
game 1 not knowing a WD from a GA, finding the distance
to the goal ring a challenge and all bunching around the ball
(albeit with a smile on there faces), the girls have
transformed into a goal scoring, slick team passing on the
run (with even bigger smiles). It was an absolute pleasure to
watch the transformation. Thanks Coach Sarah for your
patience and skilled coaching and thanks to all the families
for great courtside support. Lookout season 2016!
