Summer Dance Camp
July 27-August 5, 2009 • University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Curriculum:
Campers will take classes in ballet, Pointe, variations,
jazz, hip hop, and lyrical from renowned dancers
and choreographers from around the country,
including demonstrations and a culminating
performance. Class levels are determined by age
with no auditions or placement classes required.
Dates:
All students and a parent/guardian must attend the
Orientation Meeting on Monday, July 27, 2009 at
8:30 am. Camp will be held Monday, July 27th
through Wednesday, August 5th, 9 am - 4 pm;
Jump Start 9:30 am-12:30 pm. (These times may
vary slightly and will be finalized following
registration.) Culminating Program for friends/family
will be presented on Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Christina Pastras Patchell
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Christina
began her professional career at the age of
16, and has performed with artists such as
Will Smith, Mariah Carey, and Boys II Men.
Currently, Christina teaches for The Rock
School for Dance Education, where she has
been on faculty for the past six years, and
also serves as a Ballet Mistress and Rehearsal
Coach for The West Chester Ballet Theater.
Michelle Alana
Michelle is a dancer and choreographer who
has been dancing for 16 years and has been
a part of the professional dance industry for
the past 7 years. She was a captain of the
Phoenix Coyotes dance team “The Pack”; the
first NHL dance team to dance directly on the
ice. Michelle is the artistic director of the
hottest dance competitions in the country,
Celebrity Competitions.
Mia Brown
Mia has been teaching dance in Denver,
Colorado, for over ten years. She has trained with
choreographers such as Cris Judd, Wade Robson,
and Liz Imperio among others. Mia brings
expertise in hip hop, lyrical and modern, having
performed nationwide in each, as well as in
industrial shows. Mia is returning to the Camp for
her fifth year.
Rachel Vickrey
Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Rachel
started her professional career at the age of
sixteen with Ballet Omaha. She was also a
member of Tulsa Ballet Theatre, The Festival
Ballet in Canada and North Carolina Dance
Theater before returning to Omaha to perform.
Rachel has danced roles by such notable
choreographers as Agnes De Mille, George
Balanchine, Lew Christiansen and Alvin Ailey.
The Temple Building on 12th & R Streets, and Mabel
Lee Hall, 14th & Vine Streets, both located on the
downtown campus of the University of NebraskaLincoln.
Temporary parking passes are available and
recommended for purchase by campers who will
drive to camp each day. Contact UNL Parking &
Transit services at 402-472-1800 and ask for a
parking pass nearest to Mabel Lee Hall.
Registration:
Class size is limited. Registration deadline is July 1,
2009 and on a first come, first served basis. Please
complete the registration form on the reverse side.
The registration fee does not include meals nor
housing and is nonrefundable. Area dance studios
have received scholarship information. Please
check with your dance teacher to learn more, or
call 477-8446 for financial assistance information.
