5) New planting is to be protected with spiral guards or
shrub shelters as detailed within the specification.
6) The site is to be maintained for an agreed period following practical completion. During this period any
trees, shrubs or other plants that die, fail to show leaf or are below specification for any reason shall be
replaced. All replacement stock shall comply with the original specification and be obtained from a reputable
supplier.
Maintenance shall include weeding, control of insects, fungus and other diseases by means of spraying
with an approved insecticide or fungicide, pruning, adjustment and repair of tree stakes, ties and fencing
and other horticultural operations necessary for the proper growth of the plants and to keep the area neat
in appearance, including removal of litter. Grass areas shall be maintained in accordance with
the written specification.
