Choreography by: Feriel Rodriguez, as interpreted by Pinar
“La Cumparsita,” is perhaps the most recognized tango. This dance
incorporates strong, yet feminine moves in a fun, sensual, Tango
fusion.

This popular Egyptian street dance style is called ”Sha’aby” and in
this choreography, the dancer is a woman driving a horse drawn
cart through the streets in Egypt and enjoys the townspeople she
encounters while flirting with her beloved.

This duet is an intricate, feminine Baladi dance.

Society has played a major role on how women’s lives are today
with some of the movements leaving a lasting impact on American
society. Here is a taste of how women began to freely express their
freedom and take control of their lives.
TURKISH CABARET
Performed by: Aj’bani, Shereen and Ferede
Music: “Gencebay Oryantal” by Orhan Gencebay
Choreography by: Aziza of Montreal
This dramatic choreography shows the strength and power of
Turkish cabaret with quick spins, undulations, and graceful
arm movements.

A beautiful oriental dance fusion number in white with feathers
and pearls using Isis wings with dramatic wing movements and
partnering depicting the strength and unity of women bonding
together.

A Gypsy bellydance with accents of color, sass, and swirl.

INDIAN FUSIoN

Music: “Desi Girl” by Dostana and “Dance Basanti” by Ungli
Choreography by: Laiela and Nasreen
A fun fusion of traditional & contemporary Bollywood. According
to the urban dictionary, a Desi Girl is a young woman of Indian
or Pakistani descent, but Desi can be
used to describe a woman who exhibits traits of “respect, glamor, power,
sincerity, love, honesty, compassion,
creativity, dedication, hard work,
brilliancy, beauty, and pride.” This
dance is for the “Desi” in all of us!
