The Dante Club has now made available the General Meeting minutes
both online and on hardcopy. Hardcopies can be found at the office
during business hours.
The Club plans to hold a Summer Volunteer Potluck BBQ on Sunday June
22nd to start at 12:30pm. Volunteers are invited to bring side dishes,
salads and desserts. Volunteers and families/spouses are encouraged to
attend, and grandchildren accompanying volunteers are welcome. The
Club will supply hotdogs, hamburgers, sausages, bread and softdrinks.
More information to follow later. Please R.S.V.P. at the office no later than
June 6th.

Join us as we explore five regions of Italy, five unique dinner events.
Each dinner consists of a 4-course meal, wine-tasting and presentation of
the region. Cash bar will be available. Please contact the office for more
information. Tickets are $50.00 per person, per dinner. Tables can be
reserved in 4, 6, 8, or 10 seats.

From the Festivities Committee
The Dante Club Anniversary Dinner will take place on Saturday April
26, 2014. Many local dignitaries and fellow Ontario Italian club
representatives will be guests. The DJ is Giulio D'Oria. Tickets are
$45.00 each. There will be a raffle to win two free dinners. The earlier
you buy your dinner tickets the more ballots you receive. Please contact
the office if you have any questions regarding the Anniversary Dinner.

From the Sport Committee
The Sport Committee is hosting a 25th Anniversary Reunion for those
who played on the Dante Club Mens' Soccer Team and attended a
tournament in Italy. This will take place in May. (By invitation only!)
Notice of Motion
Due to the financial burden of the bonds on the club as outstanding debt
and the loss of revenue of the membership dues, The Board
recommends: that the ability to transfer bonds to children who are not
current members as of the date of April 7th 2014, upon the bond
member's passing or turning age 65 be discontinued.
This motion was passed by the membership at the April 7th
General Meeting.
AGM and Elections
At the Annual General Meeting members will be presented with the
Renovation Project proposal. More information to follow on this topic.
The following positions are open on the Board of Directors: Vice
President, Recording Secretary, and (current 1yr term) Director. The Club
encourages members to consider possible candidates and nominations.
Two Finance & Audit Committee positions are also open. The Governance
Committee now has the Nomination forms available and they can be
picked up at the office or online. Nominations will close on May 16th.
Elections will take place at the AGM on Sunday, May 25th. Lunch will
start at 12:30pm and the Elections will begin at 1:30pm.

Reminders
The deadline to pay dues has passed. Notices will be sent out as a
reminder to get the payment in. Members only have another 60 days
from the date of the letter to get their dues paid or their membership will
be terminated. This comes directly from the by-law document. Dues are
$50.00 for the year.
The next general meeting is Monday May 5th at 7:30 pm. Help keep our
records up to date. Let us know if you move or have an e-mail address
change to ensure timely receipt of bulletins.
If there is any news of those who have passed away or who are sick in
the hospital, please contact Angelo Ferrari at 519-542-4962. Please let
Gina know if you have any announcements/photos to share (birth,
wedding, etc.) or if you would like to become more involved with the
Club or committees. The newsletter
deadline is the first Monday of the
month.
