• Home Delivery of library materials is
provided to homebound residents of

Township who are physically unable
to come to the Library because of a
permanent or temporary disability or
illness.

• Literacy materials for students and
tutors are available in the Outreach
Services Department.
• Minibranch libraries are located
throughout the community in
retirement residences and the OPC.

• A TDD (Telecommunication Device
for the Deaf) is accessible 24 hours
a day by calling 248-650-7151.
• Books and magazines focusing
on issues of interest to individuals
who are deaf or hard of hearing are
available in the Outreach Services
Department.
• Interpreter services are provided for
library programs upon request with
two weeks advance notice.
MOBILITY AIDS
• Drive-up window provides ease
of access for picking up library
materials.
• Mini shopping
carts are
available for inlibrary use.
• A wheelchair
and walkers are
available at the
Information Desk.
• A motorized scooter similar to
those found in grocery stores
can be used inside the library by
persons with valid library cards.
LOW VISION
• Give your eyes
a rest from the
smaller print
of newspapers,
computer screens
and portable
electronic devices
and enjoy one of the over 7,000 large
print titles available in Outreach
Services, on the Bookmobile or at the
Minibranch libraries.
• The library catalog allows users to
enlarge the size of the print with a
simple click of the mouse. Your search
results will be displayed in a much
easier to read 17 point font.
• A variety of handheld and stand
magnifiers, as well as a closed-circuit
television (CCTV) system that plugs
into your own television, are all
available for checkout.
• A desktop video magnifier that enlarges
images and text from 3.3x to 70x and
an adaptive computer with screen

Department.

• Individualized library services and
special collections are available in
the Outreach Services Department
and on the Bookmobile.
• BiFolkal Kits contain multimedia
presentations designed to
encourage reflection and
expression among adult and
intergenerational discussion
groups. Each kit contains a
CD with sing-along songs &
stories and a DVD for the visual
components of the theme. Some of
our more popular kits include:
