Keynotes For Programming
Cocoa High School Modifications
1. Room 7-714, currently a classroom, will be converted to a CTE Tech Lab
a. Furniture from Room 168 at Clearlake MS to be relocated to this room, Janice Scholz
to confirm quantity of modules to relocated and any additional furniture requirements
b. Size of furniture modules could be an issue, need to accommodate at least 28
stations. New furniture will be purchased if necessary.
c. If necessary, BRPH will look at removing door to 7-713 which currently has two exits
to ensure modules can be reconfigured to meet capacity requirements.
d. CEG to evaluate the capacity of the existing HVAC to verify whether it can
accommodate the load
e. Additional storage space required for this program. Janice Scholz and Dr. Soliven to
agree on the size and location of this space.
2. Room 7-715, currently Infants & Toddlers, will be converted to a classroom
a. All furniture to be relocated to Room 212 at Clearlake MS
b. Will need to remove and relocate demountable partitions in Southeast corner of room
c. Relocate modular walls
3. Room 7-716, currently Infants & Toddlers, will be converted to a classroom
a. All furniture to be relocated to Room 213 at Clearlake MS
4. Room 6-614, currently Diagnostics, will be converted to a classroom
a. Furniture re-location as necessary to Room 112 at
5. Room 6-615, currently Head Start, will remain as office space for Cocoa staff
a. All furniture to be relocated to Rooms 220, 221 and 222(a-g) at Clearlake MS
6. Room 6-617, currently a classroom, will be converted to the Home Ec Lab
a. BRPH to layout 6 kitchens
b. CEG and Heard Construction to look at financial feasibility of a natural gas
connection for hot water
c. CEG and Heard Construction to verify proximity of sewer and water connections
d. Storage will need to be added in room 6-620
i. Sewer, water and power will need to be provided for washer and dryer
e. All fixtures to be relocated from Rooms 131 and 132 at Clearlake MS to this room
unless it is same or less to provide new

Room 6-611, currently a classroom, will be converted to the Business Lab
a. Will need (30) computer stations plus student desks and instructor desk
b. Shelves on east wall to be removed
c. Furniture and equipment from Room 244 at Clearlake MS to be relocated to this
space

8. Room 17-174, currently storage, will be converted to Computer Testing
a. Ideally, 40+ computer stations are desired, Dr. Soliven confirms that quantity is more
important than perimeter vs. centered in space
b. Computers and furniture to be moved from Clearlake computer labs to this space
c. CEG to confirm power and HVAC requirements to get the necessary capacity for this
room
9. Corridor 001
a. Will need a new wall/door with panic hardware at north and south ends to ensure
security in this area, BRPH to confirm this can be done
10. Rooms 17-176 and 17-176A, currently used by TSS, will be converted to a Science Lab
a. All items to be relocated to existing Media Center at Clearlake MS
b. Will need to be updated to be brought up to lab standards
i. Evaluate the existing ceiling tiles, a percentage may need to be replaced
ii. Repaint room 17-176 at a minimum
11. Rooms 17-177 and 17-178, currently used by TSS, will be converted to classrooms
a. All items to be relocated to existing Media Center at Clearlake MS
b. Will need to be updated to be brought up to classroom standards
i. Evaluate the existing ceiling tiles, a percentage may need to be replaced
ii. Repaint rooms
12. New Classroom Portables
a. Five (5) classroom portables requested by Dr. Soliven
i. Locate units just north of Building 10
ii. (5) All units relocated from Space Coast Jr/Sr HS
b. SBBC advised that all off site portables may require the following:
i. Repair possible leaks at portable ridge
ii. Pressure wash unit
iii. Paint inside and out
iv. Repair new floor covering at center piece where floor is buckled
v. Check exit lights, lights, and receptacles for proper operation, repair as
necessary
vi. Cover holes in siding with sheet metal
c. CEG to look at power/fiber options
i. Fiber may be fed from 11-113 with existing accommodating outside
communications handhold
d. Provide (4) new security cameras for portables
i. (2) on buildings looking at portables
ii. (2) on portables looking at fields (not a project cost)
e. Exterior Lighting as required
13. General
a. Dr. Soliven confirms that Cocoa HS has enough lockers to accommodate new
student population

Clearlake Middle School Modifications
14. Media Center
a. West side of the building is to be allocated to TSS
i. This division will be achieved by using the existing TSS shelving and cubicle
layout and modular partitions purchased by Educational Technology
ii. Provide two (2) power poles for the eight cubicles with one(1) 110V circuit for
each two cubicles plus one (1) data plate for each cubical
iii. Provide 220V power for compressor in Room 192 with airline to exterior next
to door in Room 194
iv. Replace all glass doors with hollow metal doors
v. All glazing to receive steel mesh attached to the inside of the frame to
address security concerns
b. Exterior parking on the west side of building to be fenced in for required secure
parking area for TSS vehicles
i. 6 foot high fence from northeast corner of Building 3, east to edge of paving,
south across access drive to the northeast corner of the media center
ii. Double 8’-0” wide vehicular access gates to be installed
iii. Single pedestrian access gate at northeast corner
iv. Exterior lighting to be installed, CEG to confirm if pole lighting is possible and
sufficient, alternative is to change existing fixtures on Building 3 to be
upgraded for necessary coverage, may need both
v. (3) new security cameras to be installed at the exterior perimeter (existing
cameras at Cocoa HS to remain in support of new classrooms) (not a project
cost)
15. Rooms 131 and 132, currently Home Ec labs, to be used by ALC
a. All Refrigerators, stoves, microwaves and the washer and dryer to be relocated to
Room 6-617 at CHS
b. Sinks will remain in place to allow ALC to utilize the space upon relocation
c. All equipment to be relocated to Room 6-617 at Cocoa HS (i.e. sewing machines)
d. Room 132 to utilize existing drops for an office space for ALC
16. Rooms 112, currently science classroom will become Diagnostics
a. Operable partition dividing classroom from lab will be closed and locked
b. Fume Hood in Lab 111 to be relocated to Room 17-176 at CHS
c. All other equipment and millwork to remain
17. Rooms 115 and 115A, currently a classroom and storage will become Vision
18. Room 168, currently the Tech Lab, will relocate to Room 7-714 at CHS
a. Currently there are (14) modular units with approximately (1) computer station at
each, some station configurations have additional computers
i. Approximately 6’-0” x 6’-6”
ii. Due to size constraints in Room 7-714, all modules may not be
accommodated, Janice Scholz to confirm and provide alternative furniture
suggestions to accommodate curriculum needs

1. SBBC to advise on the relocation of the remaining modules if
consolidation of stations is approved
b. All other equipment to be relocated to Room 7-714, Janice Scholz to confirm
c. This room will be reconfigured for Adult Ed to use as a testing lab with approximately
30 computer stations
19. Room 169, currently an atypical classroom space to be configured as an Adult Ed classroom
a. Will require additional power, (6) outlets available
b. Tom Fitzgerald advises configuring each classroom to accommodate (12) stations
c. Due to atypical proportioning of room, computer stations will run north-south from
south wall, (2) rows of three tables (5’-0” lengths)
d. Heard Construction to identify damaged outlet covers in the room and replace to
match existing; if all covers are damaged replace all outlet covers with stainless steel
plates to meet county standards
20. Room 145, currently a computer testing lab, configured for Adult Ed
a. All furniture and equipment to be moved to 17-174
i. Dr. Soliven to confirm that tables will move to 17-174 and not alternative
room
b. Power poles to remain
21. Room 247, typical classroom, configured for Adult Ed classroom
a. Will require additional power, (6) outlets available
b. Tom Fitzgerald advises configuring each classroom to accommodate (12) stations
i. (3) tables with (2) stations each on each perimeter wall, typical
c. Heard Construction to identify damaged outlet covers in the room and replace to
match existing; if all covers are damaged replace all outlet covers with stainless steel
plates to meet county standards
22. Room 244, currently the Business Lab, reconfigured for Adult Ed
a. All tables and equipment to relocate to Room 6-611 at CHS
b. Power poles to remain
c. Heard Construction to identify damaged outlet covers in the room and replace to
match existing; if all covers are damaged replace all outlet covers with stainless steel
plates to meet county standards
23. Rooms 220-223, faculty offices, conference, break area and support, Head Start and Virtual
schools will relocate to these areas
a. All walls and office configuration to remain as is
b. Virtual Schools is be relocated to Rooms 222B, 223 and 223A (not a project cost)
c. All other rooms to be allocated to Head Start
24. Rooms120-125A, currently Main Office and Support, will be shared by Adult Ed, ALC and
Virtual Schools
a. All walls and offices to remain as is
b. ALC to occupy 125, 125A and 125B
c. Virtual Schools to have a receptionist stationed at shared front desk

25. Building 3, both floors, currently classrooms, will become ALC
a. All classrooms will not need additional power drops
b. Room 133 use to be a computer lab and will be re-evaluated for needs to be
converted back to a testing lab
26. Infants and Toddlers to occupy Rooms 212 and 213
a. Demountable walls and furniture to be relocated from Room 7-715 at Cocoa HS and
reconfigured for staff in Room 212
b. The itinerant desks and storage shelving from Room 7-716 at Cocoa HS to be
reconfigured in Room 213 utilizing existing drops with (2) additional drops to be
added. This room will also accommodate three (3) DJJ staff currently located at
Clearlake
27. Virtual Schools to have (3) classrooms
a. Rooms 214, 215 and 216 will be designated but will not be in scope (not a project
cost)
28. Private Schools to have (1) classroom
a. Room 217 will designated
General Note: All costs associated with the relocation of Central Area Adult Education and
Central Area Alternative Learning Center to Clearlake will be included in the contract but are
not a project cost and will be tracked separately.
