Howdy and welcome to the start of another year with
Dallas County Aggie Moms! Our theme this year is
“All of Us Are Greater Than Any of Us” based on
the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets’ motto
“Through unity, strength.” I believe that we can
accomplish more working together than we can as
individuals.
Membership and volunteering are so important! As
we raise monies throughout the year from small
events (Exclusive Rally House Shopping Nights &
Kendra Gives Back), Boutique sales and the Spring
Singing Cadets Concert, we fund the scholarships
first then the remaining amount will be sent to
eligible A&M student organizations. Each year,
DCAM members vote on the distribution of those
funds. Your membership dues and your volunteer time
directly translates into donations. Last year, DCAM
donated $10,000 to the student organizations. Let’s
continue the momentum!
We want to host social gatherings, too. Look for an
“Aggie Moms Connecting” event every month and join
us. If you have an event idea, email it to
[email protected].
I look forward to seeing all of you at our first General
Meeting on Thursday, September 17th.
Thanks and Gig ‘em! Karen Hunter ‘85, President
Karen’s all-Aggie family includes husband Cary ’87,
daughter Katy ’15 and son Craig ‘16.
We’re Moving!
DCAM will have a new meeting location this year!
We are excited to announce that our 2015 – 2016
General Meetings will be held in the Caldwell Room
of University Park United Methodist Church (4024
Caruth Blvd, Dallas, TX 75225).
The meetings will still be on the 3rd Thursday of the
month (September through May, except December and
March) with Meet & Greet, Boutique time and
refreshments at 6:30 PM followed by our business
meeting and program at 7:00.
Sept. 17th meeting we will hear from Angela Winkler,
Assistant Director of the Offices of the Dean of Student
Life for an overview of programs & services at TAMU.
Get Involved!
DCAM’s goal is to contribute in every way, by
individual and united effort, to the welfare of
our Aggies. Aggie Mom-raderie is an added
bonus: making new friends and having fun in
the process!

during the school year). The Fall Meeting and Workshops are on Saturday, August 29th. Dinner on
Friday, August 28th at 6:30 PM is optional (the cost is $28). All Aggie Moms are welcome to
attend -- it is a great opportunity to visit with other Aggie moms in our Club, as well as moms in
clubs from all over! For more details, go to the Federation website at
http://aggiemoms.aggienetwork.com/events and http://aggiemoms.org/workshops. We
must sign up as a group so I need to hear from you by August 14th. If you are interested in

AMAZON SMILE, TOM THUMB,
KROGER & SCRIP
DCAM offers several ways for you to donate by just
shopping! We receive donations from AmazonSmile,
Tom Thumb and Kroger, and all you have to do is
link our information. Kroger does require a
cardholder to register their donations preference
every year, but the others are a one-time sign up.
Click on the Rewards Programs page on our
website for more information. We also offer SCRIP,
which are gift cards that you buy at face value. We
will have select places on hand, but you may order
them at any time. Click here for more information
on SCRIP Cards.
