Care and instructions
The Shaffer-Berry enameled frypan is great for
cooking on gas, electric, ceramic and induction
cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended
for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor
flames, nor in microwaves. The use of vegetable oil
or cooking spray is recommended for better cooking
and clean up. Select low to medium heat when
cooking on stove top, and never heat an empty pan.
Use of wooden or silicone utensils is recommended.
The porcelain enameled cast iron cookware is cast
from molten iron in individual sand moulds.
The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season
cast iron, but we recommend seasoning the vessel
rim where the cast iron is exposed. Season by
lightly rubbing cooking oil onto surface. The cast
iron pan has superior heat distribution and
retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls. The
excellent heat retention reduces the amount of
energy needed for cooking. Not recommended
for the dishwasher. Hand wash only for cast
iron cookware. Wash in warm soapy water. Dry
thoroughly after washing. Please see instruction
manual for further details of care and use of the
cast iron cookware.
