Giving Back To Our Members
Telco Community Credit Union has a long history of embracing the Credit Union
motto “People Helping People”. We go beyond helping members with financial
services and proudly support our communities with charitable services.
Thanks to your help, over $10,000 was raised and countless man-hours contributed
to local charities and individuals in 2015.
• Support to individual members for heating bills, medical expenses, short term
housing, and school supplies
• Christmas gifts, food and clothing for those less fortunate
• Local charities include Eblen Foundation, WNC Rescue Mission, Shriners,
Fraternal Order of Police, Fire Fighters Associations, Community Centers,
Health and Dental Ministry

Recognizing outstanding activity in community support,
your Credit Union is a Seven-Time recipient of the
Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service
Award. In 2015 we won First Place in our category
within the Carolinas Credit Union League.
This award is recognition
of all the people within
the credit union and
those within our
communities who
contributed to the
charitable work that
made this possible.
“Thank You” for all that you do.
The idea was simple:
Let’s do something a
little different to reward
GI V E
as many members as
AWAY
possible. New checking
accounts, new loans, or simply mailing in an entry
allowed Telco members to enter monthly drawings for
$500 cash prizes, and then a grand prize drawing.*
If you followed Telco’s Cash & Car Giveaway you’ll
know that there were 4 people winning $500 at monthly
drawings from March through October. Brandon Gosnell
of Saluda is the 2015 Telco Cash & Car Giveaway Grand
Prize Winner. Brandon took possession of his brand
new Ford Focus on a cool
Wednesday morning right
before Thanksgiving at
Telco’s Hendersonville
branch, which is where he
does all of his banking.
Brandon is definitely
excited about winning
the car. He didn’t believe it was real when we first called
him with the news, but he knows it is now! Brandon says
he plans to “drive the wheels off this car”, and save a ton
on gas for his long commute to work - Saluda to Arden,
every day.
Congratulations Brandon, and all of the Cash & Car
winners!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, administrative
staff, and employees of Telco Community Credit Union,
I would like to acknowledge the following companies
for their generous contributions to the Telco Charity
Committee fund raising events.
Their contributions provide a significant compliment
to the time that is volunteered by Telco members,
volunteers, and employees. We are proud to be living
and working with so many caring people. Together, we’ll
continue to build strong futures for our communities.

Tax Time Tips
For A Prosperous
New Year
Do you spend weeks eagerly anticipating
your tax refund? When the money finally
comes in, is it gone tomorrow? Many
people view tax refunds as unplanned
bonuses. They see the money as a gift
from the government, to use for splurges
or treats. A tax refund also provides the
opportunity to improve your financial
situation.
Tips To Get The Most Value From Your
Tax Refund:
• Pay down your debt. Use your refund
for some much needed debt relief. Pay
off your credit card balance. If you
have an outstanding balance on more
than one credit card, try to pay off the
smaller, high-interest rate balances first.
That will free up more funds to put
toward larger balances. Alternatively,
you can apply your refund toward other
debts, like a car loan or a home equity
loan.
• Save for a rainy day. Why not give
yourself an even bigger return on your
refund by putting the money into a
savings account or Save To Win CD?
Your tax refund will continue to grow
if you invest it. It’s always helpful to
have a savings account to draw from
when a major car repair bill, medical
emergency or other unexpected expense
comes along. That way, you don’t have to
borrow money and add to your debt.
• Consider your goals. Trying to save for
a house or car down payment? Hope to
contribute to your child’s college tuition?
Consider applying your tax refund
toward these goals. If you don’t yet
have a set of short-term and long-term
financial goals, put one together. You’ll
be more conscientious about how you
spend your refund or any other extra
money that comes your way.
Remember, you work hard for your money
and you deserve to enjoy a healthy financial
lifestyle. Put some thought into how you
use your tax refund. Making smart financial
decisions is not always easy, but it will
definitely benefit you and your family over
the long term.

New Branch Locations
Two new branch locations were opened at the end of 2014
in preparation for membership growth of your credit
union in 2015. New and existing members have really
showed their support of these new locations in Candler
and Hendersonville. In addition to being more convenient
to these communities, both of the new branches are
operating as a full service branch with ease of access,
multiple drive-thru lanes, safe deposit boxes, night drop
safes, ATM, and plenty of room inside to meet with
Member Service Representatives and Loan Officers.
Instant Issue Cards
Instant Gratification. Doesn’t it feel good? Implementing
‘Instant Issue’ credit card and debit card systems in all of
our branches this past year was another milestone easily
overlooked, but important. We realize the value in using
current and leading technology for providing the most
comprehensive financial services that you, our member,
desires to have. And now, whether opening a card account
or needing a replacement card, we can make it happen in
just one visit to your local branch.
Sometimes it’s the little things that help make our day to
day life a little bit easier.
Celebrating 80 Years
Of People Helping People
Telco Community Credit Union has been providing
financial services to people in Western North Carolina
for 80 years. In addition to looking back on the events
and activities of this past year we took time to look back
to our origins. Your credit union has evolved a lot since
1935, and thanks to you, we continue to stand strong as a
premier credit union - as your community credit union.
If you didn’t catch the story we published earlier you can
find it online at www.Telcoccu.org under the “Who We
Are” tab. It’s a story you can all be proud of having a role in.

Find The Right Solution
For Any Borrowing Need
You have goals. You borrow money to reach those goals.
And as a credit union member, you can take advantage of
low interest rate loans that your credit union offers.
What’s The Right Loan?
If you’re a homeowner, one source of funds - particularly
for home improvement projects - may be the equity in your
home. Tapping home equity is convenient and may offer tax
advantages. Telco currently has Home Equity Line Of Credit
loans as low as 2.75%* APR**.
If you are looking to become a home owner your credit
union has many options for mortgage loans. The available
interest rates will vary with market fluctuations. But keep in
mind that we have mortgage experts here to help find the
best options to fit your goals and your budget.
Vehicle purchases are the most common reason to borrow
money. Telco offers great vehicle lending rates and terms.
We offer loans for new and used cars and trucks with
terms as long as 72 months, and rates as low as 1.89% on
new vehicles.* We also offer loans on motorcycles and
recreational vehicles. Your interest rate is determined by
your credit score and other credit qualifications.
You can apply for an auto loan in person, using the online
loan application at www.Telcoccu.org, or by completing and
mailing a loan application from our website Forms Page.
Members and potential members may also apply “on the
spot” at a car dealer. Just tell the dealer you want to get your
loan from Telco.
Responsible Borrowing
No matter what type of loan, borrow responsibly. To prevent
financial difficulties, manage debt and spending wisely;
borrow within your means; create and stick with a spending
plan that takes into account all your financial obligations;
and consider the increasing prices of gasoline, utilities, and
groceries.
Finally, ask yourself the
following question: How
much can I realistically
afford to spend on loan
payments and still live
within my means?
Life happens, so borrow
responsibly. Call us
today at 800.222.1025
to help secure the right
loan to realize all your
financial goals.
