Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 – IWB FOR YOUR GLOCK-43

it’s quite likely that you would be immediately
expelled from your country club.
The IWB holster fits between your trousers and
under garment. A poorly designed holster will
begin to chafe the wearer and discomfort is
further aggravated by perspiration and/or
exposed fasteners.
My mantra in conceal carry handguns is buy a
gun that fits your anatomy that’s reliable and
use it with a competent holster. Fortunately
there is no shortage of IWB holsters especially
for Glock-43s, which we predict will be the
hottest 9mm subcompact on the market.
As I looked for holsters to test with the Glock, I
decided to run with the BladeTech Kilpt for
appendix carry and the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck,
3.0, the company’s latest IWB holster and
subject of this review, for a 4’oclock carry. Four
factors drove my decision to go with the Tuck
3.0: concealability, comfort, adjustability and
retention.
One of several considerations when I carry
concealed is, in fact, concealment and the IWB
holster is tailor made for that. For a variety of
reasons, the last thing you want to do is walk
around with a noticeable weapon print around
your waist. It’s certainly not “très chique,” and
To meet the comfort requirement, Alien Gear
covers the back of the Tuck 3.0 with a soft and
supple neoprene cloth ; dramatically reducing
the number of fasteners that come in contact
with your body. The Tuck 3.0 adapts to the
body’s contour naturally, making this holster
the most comfortable IWB I’ve worn.

retention by stiffening the holster. So, unlike a
number of IWB holsters, the Tuck 3.0 shell can
be adjusted for weapon tension.
Alien Gear’s Cloak Tuck 3.0 is the perfect IWB
holster for your favorite conceal carry weapon.
The hybrid component of the Tuck 3.0 holster is
a thermoplastic polymer instead of the usual
leather arrangement. There are a couple of
benefits to this approach. First, unlike leather,
the polymer will not absorb moisture which is a
foregone conclusion with IWB holsters –
especially if you run “al fresco.” Second, the
thermoplastic lends itself well to texturing.
Alien Gear calls it Alien Skin. The Tuck 3.0’s
surface texturing works against the weapon’s
surface adding a degree of “grippiness” to the
holster and improving retention.
The Tuck 3.0 has excellent adjustability; it can
be adjust for cant by simply changing the
polymer clip positions. You can also change how
high or low the weapon rides on your waist
band using the same procedure.
Concealability is excellent, as are comfort and
adjustability. If that isn’t enough for you, try a
30 day test drive period. Still not enough? If you
change your conceal carry pistol, Alien Gear will
exchange your holster’s Kydex shell to match
your new pistol. And, if that isn’t enough for
you try Alien Gear’s Forever Warranty.
