It is hard to believe that Christmas is nearly
here. 2014 has certainly been a busy year for
the Travelling Ladies Club members, with an
increasing number travelling on our group tours,
independently or with other members.
A lot of research, planning and thought goes
into arranging the perfect holiday and it would
be lovely to be able to take credit for the
success of these adventures. However there
is something very special about the way TLC
members bond, which apart from the fact
that we introduce you, has little to do with us!
Perhaps the secret ingredient is the fact that
the shared excitement of the holiday starts
before you leave home and continues after you
return. Maybe it is the security of travelling with
people who are coming from the same place
as you in thoughts and experiences, as well as
location.
Two weeks ago, Europe’s Finest 2014
enjoyed their second reunion and last week
the Myanmar group met for a Bon Voyage
cocktail party. This week I attended a reunion
for the Southern Africa group which I had the
pleasure of escorting in August. Every one of
our wonderful group members were there, not
wanting to miss the opportunity to catch up
with new friends and relive the experience while
sharing memories and photos.
Whatever it is that makes many of these
adventures a holiday of a lifetime, we feel very
privileged to be part of it and would like to say a
big thank you to you all!

Changes within the TLC co-ordination team
Due to work commitments, Lynn has reluctantly had to step
back from her role as the TLC meeting presenter. Thank you
Lynn for the dedication and enthusiasm you have shown over
the past couple of years. We wish you all the best.
Kay and Pam will happily continue to run the Launceston
meetings and Judy Tierney has agreed to chair our future
meetings in Hobart.
We are sure you all know Judy and her love of travelling and
would appreciate how fortunate we are to have her happily
agree to take on this role.
As a freelance journalist Judy worked
on current affairs radio, produced an
arts programme for 936 ABC Hobart,
took on the role of presenter of the
7.30 Report and produced numerous
documentaries. She has travelled
extensively overseas and has lived in
the U.S.A, England and Kuwait.
Judy has won numerous state and
national awards for her journalistic
work and is a regular speaker at
community and public events.
