CHRISTMAS BANQUET
Saturday, December 5th
at Piedmont Church in Marietta
Sign-ups have already been completed for this
year’s Single Parent Christmas Banquet, but it will
surely be one for the record books! An amazing
program is planned for both our single parents and
their young children, as we host this event, along
with Piedmont Church. The children (birth-5th grade)
will enjoy their own party, the “Jingle Bell Jam”
hosted by the church. A wonderful meal shared
with friends, amazing entertainment, inspiring
speakers, great gifts galore and more await our

community? Volunteers are always needed at
the many non-profit organizations in the Atlanta area. But you don’t have to venture too
far from home to volunteer! You can volunteer in our Adventure Centers, in our Legacy
Centers or with our Teen Service Corps. To

FOOD BANK
Special thanks to all of you who helped
make our food drive to benefit the Atlanta
Community Food Bank a huge success. We
collected over 6,174 food items and more
than $4,495 in contributions.

755,400) in metro Atlanta and North
Georgia turn to food pantries and meal
service programs to help feed themselves
and their families.
:: 80,600 people are served each week by
programs supported by the ACFB.
:: 76% of recipients reported choosing

Founded in 1979, the ACFB procures more
than 60 million pounds of food each year
and distributes to more than 60 non-profits serving families in 29 metro and North

START SPREADING THE NEWS!
Ciji Tatum, a resident of Walton Westside, recently traveled to Egypt as part
of a 14-person tour group. While there,
she met two other gentlemen from
Atlanta that she didn’t know. They began to chat about Atlanta and were in
awe that they had traveled across the
world to meet. After the trip was over
and she returned home, she ran into one of
those same gentlemen again in the hallway
at Walton Westside! As it happened, he
was her next door neighbor. She literally
met her next door neighbor in Egypt…on
the other side of the world. You don’t have
to travel to the far reaches of the earth to
meet your neighbors – just attend one of
the events at your community, designed to
make your neighbors your friends!
The 1st Annual Legacy Luncheon, held in
September at the Mansour Conference
Center, was a huge success! Senior adults
from 14 different Walton communities
attended (over 200 of them!) and were
treated to a delicious meal, served in a
beautiful setting with outstanding entertainment. Bill Gleeson, a former New York
City firefighter during 9/11, crooned his
“Sounds of Sinatra” tunes to the delight of
one and all. The fellowship was sweet, the
mood was joyful and the day was wonderful. Watch for info of next year’s event! You

SIGN UP NOW FOR CAMP!
One Need is a non-profit, faith-based
organization that supports the benevolence
efforts of local churches. Need requests are
submitted through local partners and can be
anything from clothing, transportation, food,
money or simply prayer. Once the request has
been received and verified, One Need sends
out the Need Alert. Those who respond
are then connected with the organization,
individual or family in need. If you have a
need (a “Needer”) or if you would like to learn
about needs that you might be able to meet (a
“Deeder”), visit the website of Parents with a
Purpose at www.parentswithapurpose.com,
and click on the “One Need” tab.

to sign up your child for summer camp!
