George Martin
Elected Governor
(His Message)
Governor Billy Bauer tendered his resignation as Governor of the Aberdeen Moose Lodge 1450 effective November 1, 2008.
At the next regularly scheduled Lodge meeting held on 6
November 2008, the Junior Past Governor, Ralph
Thompson declared the Office of Governor vacant in
accordance with section 35.11 of the Moose General
Laws.
The Board of Officers unanimously appointed Junior
Governor George Martin to be Governor of Lodge 1450.
That brought to two the total of vacant positions within
the Lodge. The position of Prelate had been vacant since
June 2008.
Governor Martin appointed Brother Michael Travers to
be Junior Governor. The Office of Prelate remains open
as Governor Martin seeks a qualified candidate who will
faithfully fulfill this obligation.
In other news….Brother Ed Lieske has been overseeing
the reconstruction of the Social Quarters Office damaged in April 2008 when a drunk driver plowed through
the wall nearly striking a dozen members in the Social
Quarters. Ed reports that repairs to the roof and walls
have been completed. The walls to the rest rooms immediately adjacent to the Office were also strengthened.
Through the combined efforts of Brother Ralph Thompson, Ed Lieske, Mike Travers and others the leaking roof
over the Main Hall has been sealed. Well Done!!
The Women of the Moose recently sponsored a Cancer
Awareness Talent Show (CATS) in the Main Hall to
raise funds for a child battling Cancer. The Talent Show
was professionally produced. Broadway Tunes with gorgeous costumes, two adult comedy acts that were really
entertaining (we laughed our butts off) and performances by several bright young men with an urban message. The entire event was well attended and greatly
enjoyed.
Sorry to report that an adult Halloween Party didn’t go
off quite as well.

A Message From The Governor
A New Day Dawning!
(cont’d from Page 1)
Check the Calendar for upcoming events and COME ON OUT AND ENJOY YOUR
LODGE. It’s here for YOU.
You’ll see there are a lot of activities being planned; Sunday Breakfasts, Friday night
Dinners, Kids Bingo, Adult Bingo, League Pool Play both 8 & 9 ball, an Egg Nog
Party and our BIGGIE….NEW YEARS EVE. These activities won’t happen without
your support. I don’t mean just showing up for the event, we desperately need VOLUNTEERS to help organize, set up and run these events. We have over 400 members
from both the Lodge and Chapter organizations. Rose Dalton and Pat Gullion can’t do
it all alone. There will be a Volunteer Sign Up Roster in the Social Quarters. If you’re
not out of town or on hospital bed rest PLEASE volunteer to help out with one of
these events. You’ll find it is self rewarding.

A Very Special Tip O’ The Hat!
To
Pat & Frank Gullion
This couple works tirelessly in our kitchen, turning out meals on
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and for Sunday Breakfasts. Most days you will find them at the lodge either preparing
or serving meals. As Pat says “Any day we’re at the lodge, the
kitchen is open.” What dedication! And let’s not forget Rose Dalton who also takes her regular turn in the kitchen.
