Henri Pescarolo A promise kept: Pescarolo is back to Le Mans A dream come true! Looking back today at the 2010 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans feels strangely odd. Le Mans has always been my favorite playground and being transformed into a journalist for a week, I followed the race from the pressroom, with occasional trips to the TV commentator’s booth. Being so close and yet so far from the racetrack, knowing that the judicial liquidation of the Pescarolo Sport racing team would start in a few weeks was indeed a very strange feeling for me. One year later, after an incredible chain of events, the situation has radically changed… for the best. During the Pescarolo Sport liquidation, two friends - Joël Rivière and Jacques Nicolet - buy all the assets, and immediately entrust me with it. Then, my faithful partners La Sarthe and Motul instantly renewed their confidence in me. Shortly after, the enthusiastic boss of Autovision MOT inspection network Pascal Karras became our major sponsor, soon rejoined by other partners like Nerim, Eolen, and Renault Rent. On January 3rd a new racing entity was born: Pescarolo Team Autovision. Only new on the outside though, since I hired back the entire crew from Pescarolo Sport led by Claude Galopin. Choosing a racing car was another obvious choice for me: the LMP1 Pescarolo fitted with a 5 L. Judd that should have raced in 2010 seemed perfect for the job. Add three talented drivers behind the wheel in the likes of Collard, Tinseau and Jousse and you have, in theory, a pretty competitive package. The reality proved me right with a win in our debut race at the 6 Hours of Le Castellet. After the 2nd round at Spa, the Pescarolo Team Autovision is leading the Le Mans Series Championship and the Michelin Green X Challenge and we are getting ready for the Everest of motor racing: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Unfortunately, the diesel LMP1 are out of reach despite a small performance readjustment. For this terrible race, we’ll capitalize on our greatest strength: reliability. Our team’s technical expertise combined to a homogeneous and competitive trio of drivers will do the rest. After all, anything can happen… Photo : Dominique Breugnot/teamdbc-pictu HENRI PESCAROLO Pescarolo Team Technoparc des 24 Heures - 72100 Le Mans - Tél : 00 33 (0)2 43 21 13 10 - www.pescarolo.com Contact presse : Madie Pescarolo Tél : 01 47 05 80 01 - Mobile : 06 07 82 16 14 - Mail : [email protected] Pescarolo LMP1 Photo : Dominique Breugnot/teamdbc-pictu Technical data Chassis PESCAROLO 01 – Chassis n°8 Body Carbon Transmission X-track 6 speed sequential gearbox with power changing, Megaline automated control on the steering wheel Suspension Double wishbones, pushrods, horizontally located Öhlins spring damper units (on the front body and on the gearbox in the rear) Wheels BBS 18’’ rims Brakes AP-Racing discs and pads Messier-Bugatti 15’’ in the front and 15’’ in the rear Tires Michelin Steering KAYABA powered Dimensions Length Width Wheelbase 4 546 mm 1 998 mm 2 795 mm Kerb weight 900 kg Fuel tank 75 liters Pescarolo Team Technoparc des 24 Heures - 72100 Le Mans - Tél : 00 33 (0)2 43 21 13 10 - www.pescarolo.com Contact presse : Madie Pescarolo Tél : 01 47 05 80 01 - Mobile : 06 07 82 16 14 - Mail : [email protected] Pescarolo LMP1 MOTEUR JUDD V10 GV 5 litres Photo : Dominique Breugnot/teamdbc-pictu Technical data Capacity 4 995 cc V angle V10 at 72° Weight 140 kg dry weight, including engine’s flywheel and wiring harness, but without clutch and exhaust system.
