some riding despite the extended winter and much needed rain.
The Easter ADA show a great success! Thanks to Show Chair,
Carolyn VandenBerg for pulling it off! She had the assistance of numerous volunteers such as Karen Peacock, head
scorer, Kathryn Bryant, Volunteers & Awards room, Penny
Phillips, Assistant scorer, Avery Phillips, Awards room,
Tracy and Patricia Augustine and many more . Special
thanks to Amy Allen for sharing Dr. Lew Sterrett and his
“Sermon on the Mount” demonstration with us. Dr. Sterrett
also gave a Easter sunrise service for those missing church to
volunteer or ride. We again held an Easter Bonnet contest Sunday with great prizes donated
by Karen Silvers.
Congratulations to all of the ADA riders who earned year end awards for
2014. There were numerous award winners this year highlighting the
dedication of many of our riders. In addition to year end awards, members Cel Cox, Holly Harper, Karen Silvers, and Eden Wyker earned
their bronze medals and Jane Jorgensen her silver. The first ADA Western dressage year end award was earned by Charlie Sokolov and her
Quarter horse, Clever Move. Congratulations ladies! Thank you again
to Susan Hancock for the incredible awards and to Douglas Christensen,
MC extraordinaire and banquet organizer.
More recently two additional ADA riders earned USDF medals: Maddie
Ramon, her Bronze and Amy Allen, her silver. Congrats, ladies!
The World Cup is in Las Vegas this year and I know many ADA members will be there to watch the best of the best as they compete April 15th
-19th.
Here’s to a beautiful spring where we are all blessed with time to spend
with our equine friends!
