Happy New Year everyone. I am so excited to start a new year
As I look back on the past year I have so many things to be
thankful for!! Mill Creek often makes me think of a wheel,
with many spokes that are necessary for keeping this
wonderful wheel rolling along. So I want to thank everyone
involved in helping me; the amazing staff, trainers, grounds
keepers, grooms and especially, our fabulous clients.
As you prepare to achieve your best in 2010 - I am excited to
prepare for the vacation of a lifetime. On February 23rd I will
be leaving you all to spend 2 weeks in Egypt. How can I leave
at such a crucial time?? After 50 years of Ram Tap I decided
it’s time for a vacation!!! I will send pictures as I gallop around
on my camel with my arms wrapped tightly around his hump.
At 1:00 there will be a riding demonstration
by Mette Rosencrantz with Cory explaining
the correct and incorrect dressage movements.
This will be very helpful
for riders of all levels
At 2:00 there will be a
mandatory meeting for
all riders who plan to
compete in the 2010
show season. All riders
and their parents must
attend. Bring your questions and Cory, Mette,
Lindsey and Robyn will be there to answer
them!!
Then join us at 3:00 for wine, cheese and
sodas for the kids!!!
You will be in good hands while I am gone and I
encourage you to look at the list of upcoming
shows on the back page of the newsletter and
plan now to attend. I look forward to a
wonderful year at Mill Creek with all of you!!!

An Ode to a Horse Lady
A POEM FOR S ADIE BUCHENAU
A fair, young damsel named Sadie
With flowing blond hair and bright eyes
Is quite an accomplished horse lady
As walls filled with ribbons apprise
Her first love she called “Gypsy Momma”
A horse of consummate skill
Made all of her jumps without drama
That ne’er cost fair Sadie a spill
But Gypsy’s job was almost done
Her novice she’d fully made ready
‘Twas time for Sadie to move on
To heights that were simply more heady
So Sadie bade Gypsy a fond adieu
As her heart filled with muddles
Until she met an equestrian jewel
With the unlikely name of - Puddles
Puddles arched mane and spirited way
Showed promise of triumphs galore
But training was needed ‘fore joining the
fray, And Sadie attacked that great chore
Jumping, of course, was the forte of the
horse, And Sadie just loved his reaction
So smooth jumps, not coarse,
she’d ne’er have to force
And progress brought great satisfaction
Time came with a thrill, to test new found
skill within Ram Taps wind-blown
embrace,
Where rider and
horse conquered the
course and
rightfully captured
