Our History
Penn-Lee Footwear opened in 1961 as a full-service shoe store. It has been at the
same location at 161-163 East Main Street (in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre,
Pennsylvania) for the past 47 years. Our store is one of the oldest privately owned
shoe stores in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We only carry nationally known brand-name
shoes that people recognize and trust.
We believe that fitting you right is our full-time job. As it was done in the 1960s, we measure our customers’ feet,
because most people today wear the wrong sized shoes. This is why we’re called the “old-fashioned shoe store.”
My name is Stan Zurek, and I’ve been working at Penn-Lee Footwear since I was 23 years old. With over 35
years of experience, I still believe in doing business the old-fashioned way, giving the customer service with a
smile, having patience, and being honest and truthful. Recently, I’ve complemented my store with a mobile shoe
truck that sells safety shoes at manufacturing plants. It’s an innovative idea that blends the old with the new.

Non-Corrosive Steel Toes used in footwear to provide
protection for the toe area. Meets or exceeds the ASTM
F2413-05 Impact/Compression ratings.
Composite Toe
A toe cap made from a non-ferrous elastomeric material,
which is lightweight and will not conduct heat, cold, or
electricity. Meets or exceeds the ASTM F2413-05

Electrical Hazard
Safety footwear that provides workers a secondary
source of protection from live circuits, wires, or highly
charged electrical equipment.
Slip Resistant
Soles designed to provide a higher level of coefficient
of friction with the walking surface to improve slip
resistance.
Static Dissipative
Footwear that allows static electricity to be dissipated
from the wearer’s body into the walking surface to
prevent static electricity buildup. Used in areas where the
