Presents
HBO Documentary Films
Directed by Peter Kunhardt and Brian Oakes
Rated TVG; Approximately 108 minutes; 2015
This feature documentary chronicles how five generations
of one American family have shared the “glorious burden”
of collecting, preserving and documenting a treasure trove
of photographs, rare books and artifacts relating to Abraham
Lincoln. In the years following the Civil War, Peter Kunhardt’s
ancestors – in particular, his greatgrandfather, Frederick Hill
Meserve – collected photographs that might have been lost
forever, including now-iconic portraits used on the penny, the
5 dollar bill, and even the image of Lincoln used to create his
likeness on Mount Rushmore. Through photos, home movies
and the words of Peter’s ancestors (voiced by several of his
living relatives), the film profiles several key family members
whose stewardship of the Lincoln collection became an
obsession, including Peter’s grandmother, Dorothy Kunhardt,
author of the classic children’s book Pat the Bunny, and his
father, Philip Kunhardt, Jr., a former managing editor of Life
magazine. Juxtaposing the challenges and humanity of the
Lincoln revealed in the Meserve-Kunhardt Collection with those
of his ancestors, Kunhardt sheds light on the rewards and, in
some cases, pitfalls involved in helping to preserve an important
part of America’s past.

Rated TVPG; Approximately 34 minutes; 2015
This documentary short finds Hilary Knight looking back on his
life as an artist and his connection to the immensely popular
Eloise books, written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Knight.
For 60 years, Eloise – the precocious six-year-old who lives in
New York’s Plaza Hotel – has charmed her way into the hearts of
young readers, one of them being actress/director/writer Lena
Dunham, whose Eloise tattoo led to a friendship with Knight,
a creative kindred spirit. Whimsical and enlightening, the film
features revealing interviews with Lena and Hilary, as well as
family members, friends and writers who have been inspired
by Knight’s work and childlike personality. Showcasing Hilary’s
own handheld video footage, as well as original Eloise drawings
brought to life through delightful animation, It’s Me, Hilary: The
Man Who Drew Eloise shines a light on a talented and inspired
artist, who has persevered through professional and personal
obstacles – including his estrangement from Thompson,
who forbade him from ever drawing Eloise again – all while
embracing the lighter side of life.

Important Information
For you to know prior to your screening
PRICING AND ADMISSION
Pricing is based on several factors including anticipated crowd size, screening location
and the film itself. Pricing is for one day’s rental; however, additional days can be added
at a discounted rate. You are welcome to charge admission for your screening which
could be a great way to help cover the cost of the licensing. If admission is charged, the
total cost of the licensing will be the quoted licensing fee versus 50% of your ticket sales,
whichever is greater.
ORDERS AND CANCELLATIONS
Orders should be placed and confirmed prior to advertising and at least two weeks prior
to your screening. We can typically accommodate last minute bookings as well, so always
check with your Account Executive prior to your event regardless of lead time.
All changes and cancellations must be received at least 10 days prior to your event. If
you need to cancel and are unable to give 10 days’ notice you will be required to pay the
licensing in full. However, you will have up to one year to reschedule that same movie at
no additional licensing fees.
In the case of an unforeseen circumstance (bad weather, electricity outage, equipment
malfunction, etc.) that prevents you from being able to host your event as planned,
you will have up to one year in which to reschedule the same movie with no additional
licensing fees. It is important that you notify your Account Executive immediately of the
cancellation. Please confirm your movie availability with your Account Executive prior
to promoting your new date. You may also report your cancellation by logging into your
online account. Payment is due at the time of the original show date. Depending on when
you reschedule your event, you may be responsible for round trip shipping and handling
for your new show date.
PAYMENT
Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice and we accept check or credit card.
For payment inquiries: 1-800-876-5445
Remittance Address:
Swank Motion Pictures

SHIPPING OF YOUR MOVIE
Your DVD will be scheduled to arrive approximately 2 business days prior to your show.
Please contact your Account Executive at least one day prior to your show regarding
undelivered or damaged items. We highly suggest that the film be tested at least one
day prior to your event to ensure a successful screening. It is recommended that you test
the film, in its entirety, in the actual equipment that you plan on using for your event as
compatibility can vary depending on equipment.
Movies must be returned on the first business day following your scheduled event. You will
be provided with a prepaid UPS return shipping label. Charges may apply for late returns.
You are responsible for the movie while it is in your possession and until Swank receives it.
ADVERTISING
Licensee shall have the right to advertise,
publicize and promote the exhibition strictly
limited to the licensee’s premises and via private
mailings, web and social media. Advertising
through media such as public television, radio and
newspaper is strictly prohibited. Licensee agrees
that any advertising, publicity or promotion that
is conducted by means of a marquee, lighted
sign or billboard may not be viewable by the
general public or will not list the name of the
movie. Should these policies be violated and/
or the screening become openly competitive
with a commercial theater all rights to advertise,
publicize and promote may be revoked and your
screening may be at risk for cancellation.
Promoting your screening is key to having a great
turnout. Our Account Executives are full of ideas
on successfully promoting community movie
events. Additionally, we offer free customizable
publicity materials available for download on the
Promotional Materials tab on our website.
Please do not begin advertising your movie
event until you have arranged proper licensing
and have received official confirmation from
Swank Motion Pictures.
COPYRIGHT LAW
Any exhibition of a movie outside of a home
setting is considered a public performance
and therefore requires licensing even if there is
no admission charged and if the screening is
for a limited audience. Swank Motion Pictures
has been appointed by the major Hollywood
studios to provide such licensing in nontheatrical markets, including Colleges and
Universities. The licensing fees compensate
the copyright owners and the men and women
who work on the film’s production. These
royalties are the way publishers, authors and
composers are paid for their work.
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Your license is only valid for the agreed upon
date, title and location. Violation of this is
subject to penalties set forth in the Federal
Copyright Act. No movie or portion thereof
may be copied, duplicated or distributed in
any manner. Ownership of the content shall at
all times be vested strictly with the producers,
including but not limited to all registered and
unregistered trade names, logos, trademarks,
characters and names of the movie. Licensee
will not make or authorize any others to make
any modifications, deletions, cuts or additions
to the content.
