Skiathos island
Modern Skiathos is the garden of Eden
dreamt by many a traveller, combining a
lush landscape with long sandy beaches,
coves and bays by the emerald waters of
the Aegean Sea.
It is a cosmopolitan hub with excellent
tourism infrastructure –the only one of the
Sporades with an airport- ideally twinning
island traditions with modern comforts,

ecological awareness.
The island’s town itself is set in
amphitheatric fashion around a sheltered
bay divided in two by the little promontory
of Bourtzi. Streets are narrow and slatepaved, the houses are small, two-storey
and whitewashed, with tile roofs.
Main street Papadiamanti is vibrant with
shops and cozy café-bars. Tavernas and
restaurants cater for all palates, and night
life has nothing to envy from mainland
cities.
