BREEDING GUARANTEE: Bulls are guaranteed to be natural breeders
with the exception of injury or disease to the animal after it leaves V8; gross
negligence or misconduct; bulls not in sufficient body condition score to

2017, at which time V8 will have 6 months from the date animal is returned to
prove the animal to be a breeder. Should the bull be a non breeder, we will
issue a credit on the purchase price minus salvage value to be used in future
purchases with V8 Ranch. We reserve ownership of all DNA cell lines of
animals sold.
From V8 Ranch
In recent years, it has become fashionable today for breeders to use words like “performance breeders” often without actually practicing their true
meaning. Here at V8 Ranch, we have been performance breeders since 1944 when Howard Parker began the herd, and since 1971 when Sloan
Williams purchased the herd. Through our record keeping, performance testing, and day to day activities - “performance” isn’t just some buzzword
we throw around lightly - it’s our mantra for everything we do here at the ranch.
Behind every one of our great V8 bulls, there is a great Brahman cow. We’re proud of their pedigree and our reputation as a top seedstock provider of
high-performing, structurally sound bulls. Our bulls, all of whom come with documented performance and breeding guarantees, are bred to represent
the best of both worlds. They are able to handle heat and drought conditions, yet they still have desirable carcass traits. They are strong, yet gentle.
And, they are muscular, yet still able to move well thanks to our focus on structural quality.
Each year V8 Ranch supplies more than 200 bulls to the commercial cattleman. We have more than 30 V8 bulls listed as trait leaders in the ABBA sire
summary. Each of our bulls under go our own ranch-based 112-day performance test that is modeled after the Mississippi State University bull test.
These 15 bulls offered represent many qualities - growth, carcass quality, fantastic phenotype, low birth weight, and more. They were hand-selected
as the top performers in our bull test which included a group of 35 fall born bulls. The selection process is based on overall quality, disposition,
birthweight, and performance growth traits.
I have been part of V8 Ranch for 6 years, and these bulls are the gentlest group of bulls we have ever offered. This is also the highest quality group of
bulls we have offered. This year, we have also included in the footnotes our recommendation for what kind of cows these bulls will fit best with, based
on their actual birthweight and birthweight EPD.
As a Brahman breeder, I take great satisfaction when I can visit with our bull buyers from out in the “real world” and be able to sell them a bull year
after year that they can take home, be proud of, and who produces consistently high quality calves. If you have a chance, visit our website and
Facebook page where we showcase many of our bull buyers and their success with V8 bulls. We also love any opportunity to help our clients market
their cattle on our website and Facebook.
The V8 brand means something to people in the beef industry. Because behind those two simple characters - a letter and a number - there is a
century-old history of pure bloodlines, skilled expertise, and uncompromising standards. We invite you to come see the bulls at Mr. Sloan and Miss
Mollie’s house, where a member of our family would love to show you around. If we can help you, please give us a call.
Sincerely,
Brandon H. Cutrer

HOW ARE THE BULLS DEVELOPED?
After weaning, the bulls started to be developed on Purina
Accuration with a #1 limiter. They remained on this ration
until the average age of the bulls was 12 months old and
yearling data was collected. At that time, the bulls were
bumped up to a #2 limiter and turned out in a 20 acre
oat and rye-grass trap to acclimate to a pasture setting to
harden up and get ready for service.
Any animal carrying a V8 brand represents more than just
a Brahman. It represents the pride and dedication of 4
generations of our family that are involved in the Brahman
business for more than 70 years. We stand behind these
bulls and any V8 animal, and are proud to do it. We
appreciate the interest in this sale. If we can assist you or
answer any questions about the bulls please feel free to
contact any member of our family. We are also including
this chart of the breed average EPDs for reference to
compare our bulls.

Large frame, growthy bull with a clean sheath and long body.
Highest actual WW, largest REA in sale, tied for largest
REA/CWT.
A bull that would work well in both purebred or

Dam is one of our favorite donors, +Miss V8 410/6.
This bull is one of those hard to find growthy, big boned,
stout bulls that offers a low birthweight. not an easy

Very gentle, stylish, and lots of capacity.
Heavy bone and very balanced.
Recommended for purebred Brahman use or Brahman
influence herds. We would not recommend this bull for
straight Bos Taurus herds due to his actual BW combined
with higher BW EPD.
This bull is meant to be a purebred Brahman herd sire. Not
only will he add super performance growth traits, but also
adds tons of eye appeal to a cowherd. A sale favorite!
Offers the best WW, YW and Milk EPDs of the sale.

Birthweight suitable for purebred or crossbreeding.
Sired by Mr. V8 243/7, who produced the 2015 National

A direct son of the great Jennessa cow, now deceased,
who produced both the 2013 National Reserve Grand

Longevity, fertility and udder quality run generations deep
in this bull. Not only does this bull offer fantastic growth,
but also the convenience traits of low birthweight and
beautiful udders on his future daughters.

HOW
TO
BID
bi d a t d vau c ti on.com
1. Go to www.dvauction.com
2. If you already have a DV account, sign in, go to our sale page and request a bidder number.
3. If you do not have an account, sign up at https://dvauction.com/register
4. Initial registration at DV requires you a credit card for verification or a bank reference.
AUCTION FORMAT AND CLOSEOUT
When the sale opens, you can bid anytime throughout the
day. The sale closes at 6:00 p.m. CST on April 5. If anyone
bids within 5 minutes of 6:00 p.m., 5 more minutes will
be added to allow the contending bidder fairness to bid
again. This is why the countdown clock may say there is
:30 seconds remaining, then jump back up to 5:00 minutes.
If you are interested in buying, we suggest being around
a computer or phone to bid until at least 7:00 p.m. OR
use the proxy bid feature. Don’t forget to REFRESH your
screen during this time so that you are seeing the most
up-to-date-bid. When the sale closes, DV will automatically
send an email to the winning bidder saying they bought the
lot.
PROXY BIDDING - This is a way DV can bid for you if you
can’t be at your computer. You type in your maximum bid. If someone jumps your bid, the DV system will automatically bid for you until you reach
your maximum bid. If you are bidding on a lot and immediately the DV system comes back that you must bid higher, this is a good indication that
someone else has placed a proxy bid on that lot. However, if no one else bids, the system does not bid for you (meaning there’s no way you can
get “run”). For example, after our first sale, a buyers told us he had placed a proxy bid for $15,000 on a heifer then left for a football game. When
the auction closed, he got the heifer for $6000, because no one else bid.
CONFIDENCE IN BIDDING - When using DV Auction, be assured that your identity, information, and any bids cast are 100% confidential.
V8 Ranch takes our integrity very seriously and has complete assurance in the DVAuction system. All bidding is confidential until the sale is
completed.

At V8 Ranch, it’s all about family—our family which has been continually operating the
business for four generations and our cow families. Whereas others linebreed to a bull, we
have always linebred to cow families. Why? Better uniformity. Great consistency. And real
pretty cows.
Our females, who all trace back to nine original cow families, are legendary producers,
ranking as some of the highest-valued females in the history of ABBA. Feminine, gentle,
maternal, easy on the eyes, and accomplished in every area of selection, our Miss V8s are
considered some of the reigning queens of the Brahman breed.
And, while we’re proud of our cattle’s performance in the pasture and their success in the
show ring, what matters most to us is the substance behind their style. Our cattle reflect
our vision of excellence and our devotion to superior breeding. As seedstock producers
with roots in the commercial cattle business, our primary focus is always on docility, milk,
fertility, breed character and other performance criteria.
FOCUS
on great
COW FAMILIES.
+MISS V8 617/2 held the #1 spot
in the ABBA Register of Renown
for 20 years. She produced legends
like +Mr. V8 666/3, +Miss V8 666/3
and Miss V8 725/3. This family is the
foundation of Powerstroke, Superstroke,
and +Mr. V8 380/6 lines. This cow
family traces to the original foundation
1944 herd, starting with “Betty Lou
44” and her daughter Miss V8 9th.
REPRESENTED IN NEARLY
EVERY LOT.
+MISS V8 571/3 is a cow family that
adds pigment and style. These cattle
carry the legacy of lots of depth of
body, thick tops, style and pigment.
Currently, 571’s family represents
one of our top herd sires, Mr. V8
675/6. This cow family is also one
that can be traced back to original
ABBA foundation stock, starting
with Martha Ann 147 (Foundation).
REPRESENTED IN LOT 15
+MISS V8 983/3 is a cow family
known for consistently producing great
sons that appeal to the commercial
cattleman. +Miss V8 653/5 would have
to be the most significant daughter
of +Miss V8 983/3. She is the mother
of The Rock as well as the mother of
current V8 donor female Miss V8 997/5.
REPRESENTED IN LOT 4, 12
+MISS V8 165/4 1993 International Champion Female and one of the highest-valued Brahman females in the history of ABBA, with 1/2 interest in this great cow selling to Nelson Ruesche of San Rafael
Ranch for $100,000. This family represents cows that are “herd bull makers.” 165 produced many notable offspring including +Miss V8 73/5, a (+)JDH Charley Manso 590/6 daughter who was International
Champion in 1997 and went on to be a phenomenal producer for Alice Heitman of Horsegate Ranch.
This cow family traces to the original foundation 1944 herd, originating with the foundation female
“Betty Lou 44 ” and her daughter Miss V8 9th. REPRESENTED IN LOTS 12, 14
+MISS V8 4/5 is a daughter of (+)WR Mr. Suva 203, with gorgeous pigment, feminine eye appeal,
and maternal excellence. In the mid-1990s, Sloan sold half of 4/5 to his good friend Bobby Dickens of
Lazy D Farm in Mississippi. She produced 4 Register of Renown daughter, the largest number of direct
Register of Renown daughters of any cow in the entire Brahman breed. This bloodline can be traced
back to the original 1944 V8 herd through herd bull Mr. V8 232/1, and the original foundation Brahman
cow Carmencita 116. REPRESENTED IN LOT 9
+MISS V8 495/5 “ROSE” is one of Jim’s favorites. Rose is one of our three Register of Renown
daughters out of the JDH Mr. Manso 288/1 bull, who was a Forgason-bred son of (+)JDH Dakota
Manso 599. She produced the 2005 Reserve International Champion Female, +Miss V8 209/6. 209/6
produced 2 donor daughters, our herd bull and 2009 National Champion, Mr. V8 463/6. Cattle from
the Rose cow family are characterized by lots of volume, style, and maternal excellence.
REPRESENTED IN LOT 7
+MISS V8 98/6 is the cornerstone of our polled program. She produced the highly acclaimed donor
daughter +Miss V8 797/6 (S), one of our top donors at the present time. The 98 cow family produced
the 2010 National Champion Female and 2012 Reserve National Champion Female, as well as three
of the best polled Brahman bulls in the world today: Mr. V8 279/7, Mr. V8 135/7 and Mr. V8 139/7. The
98 cow family represents quality all around, whether you are seeking polled genetics or not. Hands
down, the most accomplished polled cow family in the United States in terms of quality, marketability,
and dollars generated. This cow family blends two of the original 1944 V8 cow families: Ann Forgason
5 (ABBA 4320) and Carmencita 116, making this another cow family that has been utilized at V8 from
the original ranch creation. REPRESENTED IN LOT 2 , 11. 13
+MISS CLAYDESTA 203-807U5 is a Suva daughter out of the famous National Champion
Diamond T 432 that we purchased from Texas oilman Clayton Williams at his Houston 1988 sale.
807U5 was the foundation for one of the winningest cow families in the history of V8 Ranch, including
generating more than $750,000 in progeny sales. Claydesta’s famed daughter is +Miss V8 188/5.
She is one of two cows at V8 to produce two different International Champion daughters, those
being Miss V8 831/5 and Miss V8 464/6. The Claydesta 807U5 influence and 188/5 influence today
is carried on by the exquisite +Miss V8 464/6, the 2007 International Grand Champion Female and
2008 World Brahman Congress Grand Champion Female. She is the dam of our two powerhouse
herd bulls Mr. V8 191/7 and Mr. V8 194/7. REPRESENTED IN LOTS 1, 6, 12
+MISS 3X MUCHO GRAND 60/5 the 1978 Reserve National Champion female, nicknamed
“Miss Priss”. Emily Dial sold 60/5 in one of Johnny Joyce’s great sales for the record breaking price of
$25,000 to Stephanie & Bill Vineyard and was later purchased by V8. Her daughter +Miss V8 287/3
was one of our all time greatest donors, producing breed legends like +Mr. V8 901/4, 2 Register of
Renown donor daughters, and $Miss V8 910/4.REPRESENTED IN LOTS 6,8
