1. Expenditures for school system for March, 2014, were $4,661,500.00.
2. Financial statements and bank reconciliations as presented. Reconciled bank amount
for March, 2014, was $27,906,793.22.
ENCLOSURE C – Overnight, Out-of-State Field Trip Requests
1. The Board approved Mrs. Leigh Anna Trimble’s request to travel with FBLA students to
Nashville, Tennessee June 29-July 3, 2014, to attend the FBLA National Convention for
students to compete as a team and individually.
2. The Board approved a change in date for Mrs. Jeannie Hughes to travel with Florence
High School French Club students to France March 19-26, 2015. The original field trip
request was approved at the April 8, 2014, Board meeting.
3. The Board approved Mr. Jason Morgan’s request to travel with Technology Student
Association members to Washington, D.C., June 27-July 1, 2014, to attend the TSA
National Conference and visit historical sites in Washington and Maryland.
4. The Board approved Mr. Jason Wallace’s request to travel with football players to
football events, camps and competitions occurring in the 2014-15 school year.
ENCLOSURE D – Bids, Purchases
1. The Board approved the purchase of auditorium seating for the auditorium at Florence
High School from Interior Elements, LLC at a cost of $165,000. The vendor is listed on
state contract (T-390).
2. The Board approved continuation of the subscription with Renaissance Learning in the
amount of $22,530.92. Renaissance Learning is the service that provides Accelerated
Reader tests (AR) for all K-8 students. STAR Reading is included as well.
3. The Board approved the purchase of Techbooks from Discovery Education digital
curriculum in the amount of $58,165.60 for use in social studies in grade 5 and grade 9
and single sign-on ability and access for Florence Freshman Center students.
