OVERVIEW DUBAI
March
3-5
The main theme of focus will be LUXURY. We will be discussing the future of selling luxury beauty and hearing
success stories from luxury beauty companies, as well
as speakers from all over the world (Amorepacific, Estee Lauder, Sephora, Shiseido, P&G, Amazon, Coty.…).
We will be exploring the concept of the Premiumisation trend for mass (masstige) brands, and we will also
look into consumer insights of the Middle East and Africa, with a special focus on niche brands in these regions.
From a fragrance perspective, we will be discussing
niche brands and their distribution models. We will be
hearing from the founder of PHLUR, a brand that uses
premium ingredients and environmentally responsible
practices, and has also introduced a novel sampling
process. Each of their scents tells a story through
visual narratives that represent their inspiration.
As Color Cosmetics continues to be a very fast growing
category with a large focus on the millenial demand
and lifestyle.
We will explore the Travel Retail, Omni-channel and
Premium distribution channels as a large part of the
program, leading to new consumer trends of customization, personalization, and the idea of “genderless”.
Mobile – Looking for new ways to tap into the power
of mobile technology to measure behavior and create
seamless, consistent interactions for the consumer –
both in-store and online.
• Four areas to invest in mobile: Mobile Content,
Messaging, Mobile Shopping, Mobile Payments
• Technology Innovation in Beauty Products and Retail: Apps, AR, 3D printing & projection mapping.

OVERVIEW LISBON
June
29-30
The main theme of focus will be LIFESTYLE, how it influences beauty, and the current trends. Social media
platforms champion the idea of “wellness” and millennial users are adopting the lifestyle in large numbers.
Beauty brands need to capitalize on the healthy and
active lifestyle by investing in natural ingredients and
sustainability, which is the new luxury. We will be connecting nutrition, health and beauty and inviting a raw
food guru to explain the essentials of this new movement.
Topics will be covered:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Natural (ingredients) beauty
Health beauty (derma cosmetics)
Nutrition/Beauty (foods/drinks/nutricosmetics)
Ethical/Sustainable status (brands with a ‘purpose’
as per Unilever’s vision)
Sensorial beauty (experience-enhancing)
Beauty/Spa services (and as means of distribution)
From a retail perspective, we will be looking at retailers that are moving into the spa category, and how
the wellness sector brings products to retail with the
rising popularity of at-home treatments and in-house
devices and even at-work. In-store Beauty Technology: Creating the “try and learn” environment, as well
as personalization: creating personalized experiences
through products, marketing, and other digital touchpoints.
Customized Content: Beauty boxes, curated choices
and communities.
Consumer Communities: Harnessing the power of
consumer communities and influencers in beauty,
and discussing how brands are leveraging celebrities,
YouTube stars and other influencers to harness their
brands’ voices across multiple digital channels to
reach consumers.
