The biogas plant in Vrbina (Slovak Republic)
The Vrbina biogas plant belongs among the first
implemented projects of EnviTec Biogas in the Slovak Republic. It was put into operation at the end
of 2010. The electrical output of the biogas plant is
999 kWel. All produced electricity is supplied to the
E-on distribution system.
This technology is conceived as a traditional agricultural biogas plant processing raw materials in
the following composition:
· Semi-liquid pig manure: 11,000 tons/year
· Corn silage: 17,800 tons/year
· The use of beet pulp and glycerine is planned in
future.

All technology for processing the raw materials
before batching into a fermentation tank and a cogeneration unit are located in the technical building on the biogas plant premises.
Another implemented project in the Slovak Republic is the Nový Dvor biogas plant. This biogas
plant was built for the same investor and has been
in operation since November 2010. The construction and capacity of the Vrbina biogas plant and
Nový Dvor biogas plant are identical and are only
several kilometres apart.
