Njfcc honors two
The NJFC Citation is the highest honor bestowed by the New Jersey
Federation of Camera Clubs recognizing those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the art and science of photography in the State of New Jersey.
This year NJFCC recognized two well known members and photographers, Gene Schramm and David Des Roshers.
Photorama, a hit!
Photorama 2014 was certainly a smashing hit. Once, again, Photorama
Chairperson, Ken Curtis, emcee’d a sellout program. This was Ken’s
finale, as he’s retiring from the
position and we certainly want to
thank him for his efforts making
the programs so special. We miss
his fine work, especially when he
presented the door prizes throughout the day.
“And, The Winner Is . . .”

Organized for the mutual
advancement and enjoyment of
photography .
The folks from my camera club that
attended this year’s Photorama
were very pleased with the presenters. And, because so many of them
are relative beginners in photography, they appreciated Jennifer
Wu’s presentation as she went
through the basics of photogrpahy.
Her images and her presentation
style was most enjoyable
More experienced photographers,
but those unfamiliar with macro photography, were wowed by Mike
Moats. He debunked a myth about the necessity of using the highest
priced equipment, showing a table listing the total cost of the camera
and lenses he uses below the price tag of the most expensive Canon and
Nikon DSLRs.
For those of us interested in the Workshop Mike plans for the Marriott Courtyard, most of us will miss it, as it’s already sold out. You can
check it out on his web site or through the Tamron newsletters.
Obviously, we want to thank all of the vendors that participated in the
day. Because I’ll probably forget one or more, I won’t mention them
individually . . . But, we do appreciate you service to NJFCC.
Member of HUB (circa 1998), Gene devotes his efforts to achieving
and retaining a vibrant camera club. In so doing, he researches new
techniques, etc, and readily applies them where feasible, thus is able
to answer just about any question asked.

Gene willingly shares his love of photography and expertise with everyone and is well qualified for NJFCC’s highest honor. As a Founding
Dave is the former President of Camera Naturalists and the Cranford
Millburn Camera Clubs. He is the current Publicity Chair and Webmaster for the CMCC. He is an accomplished photographer, judge, lecturer, trip organizer and tireless champion of environmental issues.
Dave’s talent and passion for photography has positively impacted
several organizations and many individuals over the years.
