Welcome to CAMP WHACHUWANT! Parents - We have what you want
for your camper; a fun, safe, nurturing, summer full of activities.
Campers – We have games, activities, skits, songs, gac, goop, stars and more,
in addition to making memories of a lifetime. Are you ready for the best
summer ever! Our program centers on three areas proven to impact kids’
development: friendship, accomplishment and belonging. Through the Y’s
day camp program, kids participate in fun and educational activities that help
them:
 Learn and master skills that help them realize their passions, talents and
potential;
 Build friendships with new friends and staff role models, adding to their
well-being;
 Help them feel like they belong so they feel safe, welcome and free to
express their individuality.
We have a huge role in each camper’s development and we take that
seriously. Thank you for allowing your camper to spend the summer with us.
The YMCA understands the many benefits a quality camping experience can
provide: lasting friendships, skill development, healthy physical activity and
FUN to name a few. We ensure that the YMCA is for youth development, for
healthy living and for social responsibility. We offer diverse programs and
activities to match the interests and needs of our campers of all ages. We hope
Camp Whachuwant can be included in your summer plans! We have a variety

The 1916 historic Marland Grand Home, located at 1000 E. Grand
Avenue, is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through
Saturday. The home was built by E.W. Marland, former Oklahoma
Governor and founder of Marland Oil, which later became Conoco
Phillips.
Museum collections at the site include the Marland family and
Marland Oil, the American Indians of the Plains Tribes, and the 101
Ranch and Wild West Show.
Self-guided tours utilize readable signage in most rooms and an
optional tour guide booklet is available for purchase.
In addition, three “look and learn” scavenger hunts are available for
ages, 3rd grade to adult. Each hunt consists of approximately 15
questions covering the exhibits and history of the museum items in the
home. Scavenger hunt titles include: the Marland Family and Marland
Oil of the 1920s, the 101 Ranch and Wild West Show of the early 1900s
and the American Indian 1877 to 1940.

Summer is right around the corner and at Kem’s Gym we will be
involved with promoting tumbling and gymnastics. Remember, try
to be consistent with your training so you do not lose skills,
flexibility, and strength over the summer. Be ready for loads of
fun as we continually learn new tricks. Summer can be hectic but
we have always tried to make it extra friendly by extending a price
break (per hour) compared to the fall and a better break still if the
summer is paid in advance (by June 10). In the summer, students
are coming and going. You can customize a pay plan just for your
needs.
