External promotion
Fuerteventura has been promoted in Bergen at Radisson SAS Hotel
during the itinerant workshop through Scandinavia organized
by Promotur Canarias. More than 50 travel agents and
Tour operators visited it and Fuerteventura Tourist Board was
accompanied by salespeople from R2 Hotels, Atlantis Hotels and Elba
Hotels.
Promotion in Oslo
Fuerteventura was present at Radisson Blue Hotel in Oslo where more
than
70 travel agents and tour operators were invited to this professional
workshop
organized by Promotur Canarias and the participation of the
Fuerteventura Tourist Board. We will have two flights per week between
Oslo and Fuerteventura next winter with Norwegian Airlines, thanks to our
co-marketing agreement.
Promotion in Malmö
Fuerteventura has been promoted in Malmö Börshus (Sweden stock market
building) in a professional workshop organized by Promotur Canarias. 59
travel managers and Tour operators from the south of the country
attended this event.
Promotion in Stockholm
Fuerteventura has participated in a professional workshop at Opera
Terrasen Hotel in Stockholm organized by Promotur Canarias. About 90
Swedish travel agents attended it. We want to reinforce Swedish winter
sales that are expected to grow 15% compared to last winter ones.
Promotion in Berlin
Our Majorero promoter in Berlin, Alejandro Calderón Berkau, has
participated in a direct promotion for the public at Prager Platz in
Berlin organized by the Spanish Tourist Office in Berlin.
The event was attended by more than 250,000 Berliners who have
participated in raffles including trips to Fuerteventura or places to stay.
ITU World Triathlon Grand Final London
Fuerteventura has participated in the London ITU World Triathlon which is
the most important triathlon event in the world. The German triathlete
Olaf Sabastschus has been there giving tourist and sports information
about the island. The stand has been sponsored by the Tourist Board, the
Oasis Papagayo Hotel and the Playitas Resort. About 8,000 athletes from
the entire world have participated in this competition.

15 travel agents associated with the FTI tour operator see
Fuerteventura for themselves
From September, 28th until October, 5th a group of travel agents
associated with the German tour operator, will visit the island and its
hotels accompanied by Alejandro Calderón, our Majorero promoter for
Germany. They will know better the characteristics of the island.
This Famtrip is the result of a co -marketing agreement signed with FTI
tour operator and its aims is to cooperate in the promotion of
Fuerteventura in Germany.
FTI is the fourth biggest German tour operator and it has recently arrived
in the Canary market. This year, they started offering chartered flights
with Sun Express from Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich and
Frankfurt which are exclusively sold by FTI.
Salon Professionnel du Tourisme et de Voyages
Fuerteventura has participated with Turespaña in the Salon Professionnel
du Tourisme et de Voyages IFTM -TOP RESA in Paris, the most important fair
for the tourism sector in France.
On the first day of the fair, many professionals have received information
of the island. In addition, our promoter in France has participated in a
conference forum entitled `Les destinations préférées des français :
gagnantes et les perdantes´ (The Favourite Destinations for French people:
winners and losers).
At the beginning of this conference " L' Echo Touristique ", French tourism
press, published the official list including the most visited places by French
people in 2012. The year-on-year growth was 15% for The Canary Islands.
Our
promoter explained the evolution of Fuerteventura in the French market.
L' Echo Touristique (Professional Tourism Press), FRAM (TO), TOP OF TRAVEL
( TO), TUI FRANCE (TO) , Fuerteventura (Destination ) and New Brunswick
(Destination ) participated in this forum.
Tour Natur 2013
From the 6-8 September, Fuerteventura has participated in the Tour Natur
2013 fair, a thematic fair about nature and rural tourism.
This fair was held in Düsseldorf. Ms Hannelore von der Twer, who lives in
Fuerteventura and is a professional guide specialized in rural tourism has
worked for Fuerteventura there. During the fair, we have promoted our
rural offer, the benefits of being a biosphere reserve, our hiking routes
and, of course, we have promoted our excellent gastronomic offer like the
cheese, the tomatoes and, even, the olive oil.

Flights and new routes:
Fuerteventura is closer to Finland this Winter 2013-2014
It is easier now to fly between Fuerteventura and Finland thanks to the airlines Jet Time, Finnair
and Primera Air. This winter we will have up to three direct frequencies per week between
Fuerteventura and Finland:
Helsinki - Fuerteventura: Every Monday at 09:00 (Jet Time)
Fuerteventura - Helsinki at 13:55.(Jet Time)
Helsinki – Fuerteventura: Every Sunday at 07:00 (Finnair)
Fuerteventura – Helsinki: Every Sunday at 12:10 (Finnair)
Fuerteventura - Helsinki at 12:20 (Primera Air)
Vueling will continue flying between Fuerteventura and Barcelona during the winter
The airline Vueling will connect Barcelona and Fuerteventura not only during the summer but also
during the winter 2013-2014 with two frequencies per week. This way, the frequencies and the
timetables of this direct route between Barcelona and Fuerteventura from October 2013 to April
2014 will be as follows:
Barcelona - Fuerteventura: Every Monday at 10:45
Fuerteventura – Barcelona: Every Monday at 13:35
Barcelona – Fuerteventura: Every Friday at 10:00
Fuerteventura – Barcelona: Every Friday at 12:45
In addition, Vueling will add new flights to reinforce the Christmas season on the 21st, 26th, 28th
days of December 2013 and on the 1st day of January 2014.
Scandinavian tourists will visit Fuerteventura thanks Apollo
From next Winter, Fuerteventura will welcome more Scandinavian tourists. The Swedish Tour
Operator Apollo will increase its charter flights.
Stockholm - Fuerteventura: Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Göteborg - Fuerteventura: Mondays and Tuesdays.
Malmö - Fuerteventura: Mondays.
Luleä - Fuerteventura: Sundays.
Copenhague - Fuerteventura: Two flights every Sunday.
Billund - Fuerteventura: Sundays.
Oslo - Fuerteventura: Tuesdays.
Helsinki - Fuerteventura: Mondays.
We will have 12 flights per week from Scandinavia to Fuerteventura from October 2013.
Flights and new routes:
From January 2014, there will be more flights between Fuerteventura and Amsterdam with
Transavia Airlines
The Dutch Transavia Airlines will increase its current frequencies between Fuerteventura and
Amsterdam the next winter season. At present, they have two flights per week (on Thursdays
and on Sundays) that will be duplicated on the same days. Therefore, we will have four
flights:
Every Thursday
Amsterdam - Fuerteventura: at 14:35 and at 15:55.
Fuerteventura - Amsterdam: at 19:30 and at 20:20.
Every Sunday
Amsterdam - Fuerteventura: at 05:50 and at 15:20.
Fuerteventura - Amsterdam : at 10:15 and at 19:45.
These flights will start in January 2014 with its modern Boeing 737 fleet.
Aer Lingus adds flights between Dublin and Fuerteventura
The Irish airline Aer Lingus increases its frequencies between Dublin and Fuerteventura adding
a second flight until April, 29th 2014. Now, there is only one flight on Saturdays.
Every Tuesday and Saturday: Dublin - Fuerteventura at 14:30
Every Tuesday and Saturday: Fuerteventura - Dublin at 19:40
From October, 30th 2013 to April 2014, Easyjet (which has a co-marketing agreement with the
Tourist Board) will increase its frequencies between Basel and Fuerteventura. Currently, it has
one flight per week but it will have two frequencies per week.
On Saturdays
Basel – Fuerteventura at 13:35 and Fuerteventura – Basel at 17:30.
On Tuesdays
Basilea – Fuerteventura at 07:20 and Fuerteventura – Basel at 11:15
Jet2 adds a new direct flight to Fuerteventura
Jet2 already connects the island with Glasgow, Leeds Bradford y Manchester, now it will add a
new direct flight to Fuerteventura from East Midlands from next Friday 23rd May 2014.
Frequency: East Midlands <> Fuerteventura
Every Friday
It will depart from East Midlands at 14:00 and from Fuerteventura at 19:00
