Love Music?
Want to produce and promote live music events?
Mitchell Shire Council are currently looking for dedicated enthusiastic young people aged 12-25 to become
members of their FReeZA Program throughout 2013.
The FReeZA Program is a Victorian State Government funded initiative that gives young people the
opportunity to lead the planning and staging of live music and cultural events within their local
communities.
The program gives all participants hands on experience and training in the Australian Music industry
throughout extensive event management, mentoring and networking opportunities.

FReeZA...
What is FReeZA about?
As part of the 78 statewide providers, Mitchell
Shire Council’s FReeZA Program also provides
important performance opportunities for local
musicians and emerging artists to showcase their
talent through competitions such as the Victorian
FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands. All
FReeZA events are fully supervised, drug, alcohol
and smoke-free.
What does it all involve?
Being a participant of the Mitchell Shire Council
FReeZA Program requires a significant level
of commitment from all committee members.
Throughout the three year program the 2013
FReeZA committee will have fortnightly meetings
after school hours, between 4-6pm at a
nominated location.

FReeZA Program?
Throughout fortnightly meetings, committee members will develop skills in an extensive range of areas
including:

Event Management
Promotions and Marketing
Graphic Design
Video Editing and Production
Artist Liaison and Bookings
Stage Management
Technical and Sound Production
Occupational Health and Safety
Budgeting
Sponsorship
Communications
In 2013 the FReeZA committee will be responsible for producing, promoting and evaluating live
music events within the Mitchell municipality. The program is facilitated by Mitchell Youth Service’s, Youth
Development Officer, who will coordinate the program and provide relevant resources and support.
What are the requirements?

Be aged between 12–25
Live, work or study in Mitchell Shire
Be able to attend at least 80% of fortnightly FReeZA committee meetings
Be able to attend at least 80% training sessions and activities
Be involved as an active participant until December 2013

You will need to complete an application form and return it to Mitchell Shire Council. Application forms
will be distributed throughout local Mitchell Secondary Schools and are available online. If you need an
