Mind Candy's 'World Of Warriors'
Targets Role Play Fans
World of Warriors is a new game from Mind
Candy, creators of Moshi Monsters, out soon on
Android and iOS. It scratches the familiar collect
‘em all itch for Moshi fans in a roleplay battling
game that will attract older gamers.
The game takes players through a timing based
adventure with role play and combat elements.
Players recruit a large team of warriors to fight
the “Boneshaker” enemy and his army of
minions. Progress through a series of battles to
recruit and upgrade a team based on historically
accurate reallife warriors.
Each character can wield different weapons and
pull off different attacks. Along the way various
magical materials and talismans can be collecting
and called on in battle if things aren’t going well.
With the older audience comes a greater focus on
visuals and strategy. The game looks excellent,
even on the older iPad tablet I used to test the
game, and brings a sense of impact and
exuberance to the title reflected in the 12+ age
rating on iTunes.
Adding a roleplay edge to proceedings is the
training and upgrade section of the game where
different warriors can unlock attacks and abilities
to be used in battle. Add to this regular events to
take part in, and online leader boards and World
of Warriors has the making of classic tablet
game.

With full console games like Skylanders Trap
Team coming to tablet this year, and Disney
Infinity offering large chunks of its experience on
the iPad, the market seems to be opening up to a
demographic who usually kept their gaming on
consoles.
The game is free to play but clear that inapp
purchases are part of the experience. “World Of
Warriors is free to download and play, with the
option to spend real money on additional
content.” Mind Candy’s website goes on to state
“You will be able to enjoy the game without
spending real money. Some things may take a
little longer, but you’ll still be able to raise a
unique team of warriors.”
World of Warriors
The collectability of the characters harks back to
Mind Candy’s roots with Moshi Monsters, while
the turn based strategic combat points forward to
a new older demographic. Balancing these two
will be important to attract new players while not
alienating fans who grew up playing Moshi
Monsters.
As you build up your team you’ll gradually
increase your chances of winning each particular
battle, but your tactics within each battle can be
just as important as the warriors you have
fighting for you from your deck of heroes. The
rag tag bunch of warriors in your collection can
jump in and out during battles to make use of

their special abilities and talismans. The battles
themselves also take place across a wide variety
of environments within The Wildlands.
World of Warriors
Although a single player experience at the
moment, Player versus Player modes and Guilds
are on the list of features coming in 2015.
Currently the early access build granted us no
access to inapp purchases during our time with
the game, but you we’ll bring you more
information on that as soon as we have it.
World Of Warriors is currently available soon on
Android and iOS.
