«Energomash
(Ekaterinburg)
–
Uralelectrotyazhmash» – the largest Russian
developer and manufacturer of electric machinery and
equipment.
The plant «Uralelektrotyazhmash» was founded
in 1934 and, for the last decades, has made a great
contribution to the national electric equipment
industry. The Company’s history includes 75 years
of successful work in production of unique electric
equipment.
The Company’s products are used in all branches of
electric machinery, metallurgy, oil-and-gas complex,
transport. The products are: transformer and reactor
equipment (TRE), high voltage appliances, convertors
and electric plants. The products are world known as
reliable equipment of high quality and used in more
than 60 countries.

One of the main lines of JSC «Energomash
(Ekaterinburg) – Uralelectrotyazhmash» is design
and manufacturing of transformers and reactors both
in dry and oil versions.
Nowadays JSC «Energomash (Ekaterinburg) –
Uralelectrotyazhmash» supplies transformer and
reactor equipment to metallurgy and machinery
building plants, generating network companies and
distribution networks. Our Company is the main
supplier of ОАО «RZD», providing development and
production of standard and individual transformers for
substations of the Russian Railways of AC or DC.

Transformer and reactor equipment is also designed
and installed on gas-turbine stations (GT HPS). One of these
stations supplies heat and electricity to JSC «Energomash
(Ekaterinburg) – Uralelectrotyazhmash».
Our Company designs and manufactures transformers over
70 years. The first transformers of 100 kVА, 10 kV were produced
in 1938 by the drawings of the «Moskovskiy Elektrozavod».
We have developed and produced power transformers and
autotransformers, in particular, we have reached power for
three-phase transformers of 125 МVА, upper voltage 220 kV
and single-phase – 120 МVА, upper voltage 220 kV.
In dry transformer production we have made one with
power 1600 kVА, voltage 35 kV with encapsulated air-barrier
systems of insulation.
Working on improvement of insulation we have created a
unique insulation with a brand name of «Transterm», which
provide reliable operation of transformers in all climatic regions,
from arctic to tropical.

High scientific and technological potential of the team
ensures creation of special transformers and reactors for complex
testing stands, military objects, science intensive plants. Nuclear
fusion plants of «Tokamak», testing plant «Tuman-3», МГДgenerators are equipped with special oil transformers of 12500
to 80000 kVА.
Special oil transformers were delivered to the European
Center of Nuclear Research «CERN» in Switzerland, unique
oil reactors, ordered by the USA, were manufactured for the
particle accelerator (super collider) in Dallas.

ENGEENIRING
The Engineering Center of JSC «Energomash
(Ekaterinburg) – Uralelectrotyazhmash» has
engineers, scientific electric engineers, doctors and
candidates of science, authors of over 200 patented
inventions in transformer building.
The specialists of the engineering center develop
transformers and reactors of all kinds.
The Ural school of transformer building belongs to
top Russian ones of the kind.
The transformer engineering center is provided
with high-skilled engineers and researchers, as well as
up-to-date software utilities.
Using up-to-date design system we significantly
reduce the time for design documents development
and process preparation of production.
A choice of optimal design is made through modern
programs of transformer modeling providing desired
parameters and economic indexes.
Programs of mathematic modeling contain the
entire pack of CAD programs.
Electrical and mechanical calculation of transformer,
creation of a virtual design model, preparation of
working drawings and process preparation are
coordinated through IMAN.
Pre-check of the structure, joints and parts of
transformer is made with a help of virtual graphical
model made in Unigraphics system.
QUALITY
Quality Management System of the Company is
certified by Gosstandard of Russia for compliance
with GOST Р ISO 9001/МС ISO 9001.
There is an entrance control of incoming materials
and components, post-operational control of parts
and assembly units, acceptance of finish product.

RELIABILITY
Transformer windings are made of copper wire of
rectangular cross-section with cable paper insulation.
We widely use split and transposed wires for reduction
of additional loss and increase of reliability. Winding
drying and stabilization under constant pressure, usage
of insulation of hard low-shrinkage electric cardboard
from «Weidmann» (Switzerland), optimization of winding
structure and application of continuous pressurizing units
improve dynamic resistance of windings to short-circuit
currents in the whole course of transformer lifetime.
In manufacturing of tanks and yoke beams we use
automatic equipment of cutting and welding of parts and
elements. We use up-to-date welding equipment from
companies of Germany, Italy, USA, Belorussia and others.
Installation of the active part
in the tank
Magnetic cores are made of electric anisotropic steel
double-side heat-resistant anticorrosive coating. «Steplap» interleaving technology provides minimum loss and
no-load current as well as significant reduction of noise
level. The structure, tie rods and yokes of magnetic core
have high mechanical strength, providing no deformation
during lifting and transportation and pressurizing of
winding and tap fixation.
In winding production we use high-duty coiling machines
from «Tuboly», Switzerland. The machines are programmable
for winding parameters, wire tension; axial and radial
pressurizing is provided. Thereupon we can produce products
with specified density of winding of high quality.

of top suppliers.
To our customers we offer transformers equipped with
switchgears from «Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH»
(Germany), «Hyundai Heavy Industries Co» (Bulgaria), «АВВ»
(Sweden). We have adopted production with attached
switchgear from «АВВ», which reduces weigh and dimension
parameters of transformers.

Transformers are equipped with high voltage inputs for
110 kV and 220 kV from «АВВ» (Sweden), «Cot» (France),
«Trench» (Great Britain). Safety valves for overpressure are
from «Qualitrol» (USA), «MPreC MR» (Germany).
Transformer cooling is ensured with stamped flat
radiators from «Esac Eurocooler» (France). Usage of these
radiators increase cooling efficiency and reduces oil filling
volume and total weight of transformer.
Gas Buchgolz relay from «ЕМВ» (Germany) with the
sampling tab from the transformer installation level and aircleaning filters from «Weidmann» (Switzerland) and «MTraB
MR» (Germany).
Cooling control cabinets are supplied by Russian
companies with casing from «RITTAL» and moder

TESTS

Uraleleсtrotyazhmash» has a large testing station with
skillful team of personnel, who perform acceptance tests
for the products. Besides, there is a group of experimental
research, which perform conventional tests, including:
• Test for heating transformers of all powers and cooling
systems: М (ONAN), Д (ONAF), ДЦ (OFAF) and Ц (OFWF);
• Tests by lightning and commutation impulses after
impulse measurement at lower voltage;
• Measurement of noise level and acoustic power;
• Mechanical tests of tanks at overpressure, vacuum
and crane lifting with measurement of tension and
deflection;
• Measurement of partial discharges for both oil and dry
transformers;
• Measurement of vibrations, above all for general
products and reactors;
• Determination of resonant frequencies, which is
necessary for choosing parameters of protection
circuits of furnace transformers.
For development of brand-new technical solutions the
experimental laboratory performs tests on physical models
and prototypes. Each and every new type of transformers
and reactors go through the whole cycle of conventional
and special tests.
The testing center, including laboratories and filed
testing centers is certified for certification test performance
for safety and compliance with technical specifications.
