This tour takes a leisurely sampling of experiences on Salt Spring Island and in Chemainus. The seaside village of Ganges is a focal point for unique shops. A mid-day cruise is a relaxing way to admire the beauty of the Gulf Islands. One of the finest views in the region is from the top of Mount Maxwell, and we have arranged vans to take you up there. Chemainus has numerous craft shops and galleries. Also enjoy a performance of one of Agatha Christie’s most enduring plays, The Mousetrap, presented at Chemainus Theatre. Tour Notes Harbour House Hotel — We stay two nights at this hotel in Ganges. We have 14 rooms with a harbour view which are assigned to the earliest bookers, and the remaining rooms have no view. The hotel has no elevator and most rooms are on the second floor reached by one flight of stairs. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Ganges (about ½ km). The hotel operates its own organic farm which supplies its restaurant with fresh and healthy ingredients. Activity Level: Moderate activity including short distances to walk (such as Mount Maxwell viewpoint), and steps to/from your Ganges room as noted above. The ramp to the boat dock may be steep at low tide and there are steps to board the Pride of Victoria.
