Dear Jessica,
It is the beginning of Spring Training for the Phillies. I had the most awesome
opportunity last week to have a private, behind-the-scene tour of Bright House
Stadium by Mr. John Timberlake himself. It was so very cool to be there while the
Phillies were practicing in the batting cages and seeing the enormity of this
complex. The new facility that is their Rehabilitation Center is incredible. Hooray
for our City, Bright House Field and the Phillies who have created such a ball field
and all that it has to offer. Let the games begin!!
Another annual event that has just opened is the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. I
am sure many of you can remember when this event took place in Largo. Well now it
is at MOSI in Tampa and well worth the drive. They have joined our Chamber and
have even added our Chamber logo and link to their website as one of their
Sponsors. Visitors ask us all the time for unique things to do while they are here.
The Festival is open weekends Feb. 23rd - April 7th.

Member Spotlight
An observation deck at a height of approximately 25 feet
above ground level will provide visitors a panoramic view
of this undeveloped barrier island.
In addition to offering a magnificent bird's eye view of the
topography and plant communities of one of the last
undeveloped barrier islands on Florida's Gulf Coast, the
CDC will provide hands-on exhibits where park guests
will be able to investigate aspects of Caladesi's history,
habitat and wildlife.
At the Caladesi Discovery Center every person will have
an opportunity to experience the nature of "Real Florida."
But in order to make this wonderful tower happen we
need support for our wonderful members! Please click
here to download the sponsorship level form.

From Donna's corner of
the beach....
A few weeks ago I
mentioned the need for
transportation from
Clearwater Beach to Busch
Gardens and other major
locations in the Tampa
Bay area. I wanted to
follow up as there are several ways to get there from here.

we would love for you to

Florida Free Rides now offers a set price for key
locations, such as Busch Gardens and Bright House Stadium.
A newer member, Precision Sedan of Tampa Bay, also offers
these services. And PSTA offers a wide range of trolley and
bus routes. For example, I just helped some visitors get from
the Visitor Center to Blue Jay Stadium in Dunedin. The Jolley
Trolley offers the Coastal Route all the way up to Tarpon
Springs on the weekends. Yesterday Florida Free Rides
shuttled a group from Chapel-By-The-Sea to the marina for a
Starlite Majesty cruise. Our members are just so helpful-and
all their contact info is found on our website. I'm so grateful to
our transportation service providers; they're helping our
visitors and locals alike make the most of Clearwater Beach
and all of Tampa Bay!
